car idles at 500, and wont rev past 3000, I replaced the pump with the one from my prelude, the filter with a brand new one, and I got that air temp sensor. What else should I check? it only idles for a sec then it dies. It's been sitting about a year.

Have you gone through and checked your electrical connections or vaccuum lines...? Mine had a similiar problem it was a vaccuum line nestled under and in between the intake pieces.

1st, what kind of car and what engine.

2nd sounds like an airflow meter, when the car goes into failsafe, it wont rev above 2400 rpm. unplug it and see if the car runs better and idles better. it should hesitate when throttle is pressed and wont run above 2400 rpm. then when you plug it back in, the car should die or come close to it. try to barrow one from a buddies car to see if it makes a difference then accidentally put the bad one on his car and pretend you dont know what happened.

it's a 89 240 auto. I just got a maf sensor from carofchoice, last week. I dont know anyone with a 240 in vegas.

I'm hoping it's vacuum, could it be the tps? There is a full 89 fast back at the junk yard by my place, has everything but passenger fnder and front case. I'm hoping I can get stuff off that if need be.
