1. How is the brake light triggered? It comes on every once in a while. Sometimes it comes on during right turns. My car also makes a loud popping noise on hard rights. I also hear a nasty scraping sound from my brakes that comes occasionally.2. Should i trust the fuel level gauge or the light? Since my sr swap, the needle has always been like 2mm off. After my walbro fp install, its gotten worse, i can bring the needle down almost 2mm past E and fill 13 gallons to a full tank.

I think thats all for the moment. Thanks in advance.

there's a switch above the brake pedal that activates the brake lights.nasty scraping sound... do you have pads left?

put in some amount of gas, like 5 gallons. reset the trip odometer. drive it dry. see how many miles you got out of the gas. also watch the needle while you do this, so you know how far you can go once the needle hits E.at least that's what I do.

damnit i posted but its not showing up.

the brake light: triggered by the switch and the level at the MC. if your pads are low, then the fluid is low, change the pads and dont add more fluid, if you do it will overflow when you push the caliper pistons back in, and that is bad

my needle will go past E too, does it give you an accurate fuel measurement?

****, the needle on my stock 2004 neon is the same way. in fact i always run it below the E mark because i know i can still get about 30 miles off it. your needle might not be calibrated.

also, is the scraping sound there when you're cruising or braking? if its scraping when you're cruising then you need new pads. its a wear indicator.

when does the clutch sound occur? what gear(s) does it occur in and what position is the pedal in?

i hear the squeek mostly at the catch point (middle travel). i hear it in pretty much every gear including neutral.

could be the retracting fork. if it isnt properly lubricated it can start making squeeky noises whenever the pedal is pressed. get a friend to sit in the car and pump the clutch pedal while you look under the hood and pinpoint the source. use a stethoscope or a screwdriver.

it sounds more like the master cylinder rod. its from inside the car.
