OK I'm back.

I have a few engine questions. I know my way around engines fairly well. But no guru whatsoever. So I just got this car runs great etc. It has a new rad in it tt model. Which I'm not thrilled about but it's new so well deal with it.

Few questions. Took it out last night 1st time. Over heated(of course) filled the fluid this morning it's leaking from the from of the engine seems to be from a pulley somewhere in the center hard to see. Waterpump or thermostat ?

Also on the rad the shroud was not on which I put back on today but on the front side{bumper side} there is also an electric fan that doesn't seem to be functional. What's the scoop with this?

Sorry for all the questions... Newbie

Sounds like the water pump, but no one can answer that reliably over the internet.
There are a few places that could be leaking.
You need to get a small mirror and look.
Everything else is just a guess.
The electric fan will come on in high coolant temp situations.

Thanks! I know you can't diagnose from the Internet etc.. Just wanted some opinions.

Hopefully it's cool to post a ton of questions here as I learn my way through this. Finding lots of interesting things on this car.

Such as.. Lol

It has a cone filter ram air located in front of the rad. But. The there a plasti shield hanging down in front of it. I would assume this is counterproductive and blocking the air flow and should be modified to allow the air through.

And the next one. (if I should be opening new threads someone please just tell me.... The fuse box has been relocated to under the driver side wheel well. Accessible through the side marker light. But hanging there wrapped in tape and plastic bags. Is there any good reason for this. Seems a dangerous place for water etc. Also really hard to get to. Not sure why it would be moved. If I disconnect all the connections can I move it back up where it belongs? Are all connections to the fuse box detachable or do I have to solder back? I will find all this out by looking obviously, but not at home and thought someone would have the answer. Thanks again

Your cone filter setup is correct, as there needs to be the shield to keep turbulence from the MAF sensor inside the filter which can cause issues when driving.
The fuse box relocate is a fairly common move, although in your case it seems the PO didn't finish the job by mounting it in a good spot. Normally the fender and engine shrouding will protect enough for this to be OK, as long as the mount location is up higher above the intercooler air path. A lot of others including myself relocate the PTU off the front timing cover to under the nose panel or to the frame rail in the front area as well as do some other minor deletes and relocates in order to make the engine easier to work on.

I'd try to keep your threads focused on a single topic or related topics. Otherwise it becomes very difficult to address a bunch of questions at once. No problem asking "easy" questions though if you've done some research before.

If it's coming out of the front of the engine, sounds like water pump or thermostat. If you're not sure when 120k was done, it may be time to bite the bullet. Otherwise, 3rd party OEM water pumps are known to fail in very short time, usually around a year, could be that. It could also be the coolant bypass hard pipes didn't get RTV'd back to the block correctly, or the coolant bypass rubber lines are leaking (go silicone!).

The electric fan on the front of the engine is an aux fan. Your main cooling should come from the fan on the front of the engine. Fan clutches commonly fail. Read up on how to test them.
