Hey, I'm a newbie to this board. I am currently looking into buying my own car. Currently I drive My parents 2000 Honda Civic SE. It's a piece of **** to say the least. I really like the 240 and have been browsing around for a used one. I found a 93' 240sx 5 speed. It's the Hias package. What makes the Hias package better than the stock 240? The seller wants $4,799 for the car. Is that a good deal? I am not sure on the KM for the car. I have been reading alot about Engine swaps in the 240. The most common from what I can see would be the sr20det Eninge. Would be the best path to take?

Here is a pic of the 240.

That looks like a very nice 240. That's in Canadian dollars, right? It sounds like a good price, but even if it's higher km's it may still be worth it.

There "search" button is in the upper right corner. It will take you to the answers you seek. Also read through the different engine forums and the FAQ. If you have questions after going through all of that info, by all means post them.

Welcome to our club! We hope you enjoy your time here. I say that like it's Club Med or something...:)

Four Seasons, Definitely Four Seasons!

HICAS is a rear wheel turning phenomenon!

sometimes it is out of phase and can sometimes not be predictable

however you may like it, it probaly isn't too bad, and it can probably be removed

Yes, That is in Canadian Dollars. I can't seem to find anything about the Hias package. What does this add to the car?

heh while I was editing you replied

nice car

Search for "super hicas"

also search for

KA24det, ka-t, kat, sr, sr20, sr20det, sr vs ca, cadet

you get the idea...

probaly your best bet right now would be to get your car all fixed up! If you end up getting one just get familiar with the way it handles. You may end up wanting to upgrade the suspension first, or if you feel a dire need for power go for the swap or turbo your original motor (ka24de)

If you plan on doing your own work on your car...get an fsm

all of course if you end up getting a 240 in the end!

It's HICAS. It's a four wheel steering system that a lot of people disable because it makes the car handle unpredictably at the limit. It adds a limited slip differential, which is coveted by those of us that are peg-leg drivers due to the superior traction!

I'd be all over it, depending on if it runs as good as the picture looks.

Oh, I see. I'm probably going to go take a look at the car and see what kind of shape everything is in. Hopefully the Ad isn't too good to be true. I really want that car. For School I am taking a Co-op placement. I got into an Audio shop. Hopefully I have this 240 before I start my placement so I can put in a system for cheap.

Welcome. At least your first thread wasn't the exact same as everyone else's. Be happy. I'm sorta looking at the same stuff you are right now, but I have about 5 months before I'll really be serious about finding a car. Good luck.

Are you talking to me? I'm not a newbie to message baords in general. Just this one. I'm aware of the flaming and all that other bull****. It doesn't effect me at all. I just laugh when some other User is flaming me and they have a picture of a pokemon as their avatar. Ha!

I say buy the Probe sitting next to it instead. :) You wouldn't regret it.

Actually S13s are sweet. I wish my S14 was an S13. Considering that $4k canadian is about 3 bucks american, sounds like a good deal. Go drive it.

I was kind of wondering the same thing, and stickgoat, I'm pretty sure 4k canadian is up to $3.50 and a punch in the face. jk, but seriously though it does sound like a good deal, if the car looks like its in good shape, the you should go for it, good luck with it!
