yeah the gate looks so simple to mill up, and fab on.. cept would it be worth it with an already short shifter?evildky wrote:the gated shifter is part of the charm of motoring in many European sports cars, most of them have dropped the gate in favor of a tighter shift patern, I believe you'll find the Z patern too tight for a gate, it would be simple to machine a gate if the pattern were large enough
or a FIAT, a lot of old FIAT's came with gated shifters, and some even got pinna farina bodieswingFeather wrote:Buy a Ferrari

^^ thats what i am wondering.Soravia wrote:Don't cut the fingers too long. Just cut mainly the end of the gates. It'll work for sure.

i used a channel lock wrench/pliers. it effed up the leather but i don't plan on using it anyway. I bought a pro-1 short shifter and it came with an aluminum shift knob (sphere) that threads on. The shift knobs with set screws suck, i bought one and it looked sweet but came loose every other shift.... fail nonetheless.....Dasoupdude wrote:it is a sad day for the empire...
how did you get the shift knob off, i tried twisting mine off cause i want to replace it, its tuff as nuts
Always use a heavy towel first, then your wrench....absolutely no scuff marks on the shifter.rmezz13 wrote:
