The 599's one of my favorite cars ever. Ferrari has kept the model evolving with the HGTE package and the restricted-use 599FXX development cars (there's an Enzo-based FXX as well, also restricted to Ferrari-approved track use). Now, Ferrari has taken what they've learned from the FXX and applied it to a street legal car.

The specs?
The 6 liter V12 now makes 59 more horsepower (670 vs the 611 in the GTB/HGTE)and 12 more ft-lb (460 vs 448), though peak power comes 600rpm later, and peak torque 900rpm later.
Ferrari claims a 0-60 time of 3.3 seconds. And I'd wager they're 3.3 of the best-sounding seconds in history.
It's Fiorano lap time ties with the Enzo (!) at 1:24, which is the street-legal record.

Power:weight is 4.9lb:hp. For comparison, the Exige S has a P:W of 8lb:hp Elise S, 14lb:hp. Ariel atom, 4.1lb:hp.

The redesigned Pininfarina bodywork is now adorned with more, larger openings, improving airflow to critical areas as well as generating more downforce while reducing drag.

Rear tires are 315/35/20. Not even that wide, really. Viper's rears are 345.

Anyway, on with the pics.

MoD, thank you.

I have a new background. OMG this car looks amazing.
From what I have heard, it is a second faster then the Enzo.

Also I am sure you mean 315s?

EDIT:
Can some one make a high res background that incorporates the picture of the front, back and angle shot?

That is a brilliant idea. How do you want them placed? And for what resolution monitor?

Well I have two monitors one is 1280x800 and 1280x1040. Perfect scale doesn't really make or break a background for me...
Make one that is 1600x____ so most people with bigger res screens than me can use it too.

As for the picture placement...
IDK go crazy with it. I really have no creativity but as long as I can see all three I will be happy. Thanks Bonker!

UUuunnnnnnngggghhhhhhh!!!! I just came. Twice.

The 599GTO is the hottest damn car available for purchase today. FACT. Look at it. Just look at it. Just like my favorite Ferrari GTs from the 50s and 60s. Striking, elegant, the list goes on.

In my garage over it. To me... the 250GTO is the epitome of the automobile.

True, but the right 250GTO is amazingly expensive, even compared to the 599GTO. No contest if I could own the classic Ferrari of my dreams I would.

The 599 will be depreciating here in a bit, but the 250? Going nowhere but up.

it is a personal goal of mine to be a ferrari owner before i die. if it happens, the car will probably serve as a vessel to the other side. i'd like to go out behind 12 cylinders of fury, but i'll settle for being crushed by 8 behind me.

Nissan GTR can do 0-60 in 3.2 with launch control and 3.5-3.8 without it.

Not Impressed, although very nice looking.

yeah, but you can get a 599 with a manual. also, it's rwd, sounds infinitely better, the best build quality in the world, infinitely better looks, exclusivity, not a rolling computer, etc. the 599 is in a whole different class than the gtr.

I guess it wins for coming in a manual version...but

*puts on flame suite*

You are kinda defining Ferrari as rice? A whole new class aesthetically with no extra performance?

hmm...here i thought there would have been way more flaming on that comment... Any how, I understand it is a great car and it is a V12 instead of a V6 twin turbo, but does a V12 really cost 200K to make? What makes this car in another class? There are some other cars out there with V12's that are in the class of the GTR around ~80-100K. I just found it funny that a whale like the GTR is just as fast as "Ferrari". I'm just not an exotic car person i guess...

Did you look at the 1/4 times? Since honestly no one ever really races to just 60mph. Looking at the numbers from the last 599 with 611hp the 0-100 was 7sec compared to the GTR's 8.6 and 1/4 of 11.2 compared to 11.8. So yes this is going to be a faster car.

And why spend 400k more then a GTR? Cause its a Ferrari with a limited run of 500 unites. Its a completely different league of car.

that could well be the best looking Ferrari interior I've ever seen.

it's not tan leather...but it's still beautiful.

NOTE: I HATE tan leather. But not in a Ferrari.
