I'm going to purchase some chrome fender trim made for a 94-96Q. Does that fit perfectly on the 90-93Q?

Are the fenders on the 94 and 92 identical?

Thanks-Jesda

To each his own, but I think the chrome trim looks tacky and cheap. (IMO)

I think the "profile" of the wheelwell lip is slightly different, but seeing how those things fit kind of loosely anyway it shouldn't be a problem.

Perhaps Fred can shed some light as he has had each car.

Looks a little tarty to me, and it bothers me I don't know what corrosion is occurring underneath.

But I'm old and in the way.

I believe the only the longest trim piece is the same length. I priced the aluminum trim piece at Scottsdale and one of the guys measured it for me. The width seems to be different. I think to only way to know for sure is try to fit to pieces yourself and see if you can live with any sizing differences.

Where did you find your trim pieces? Are they savaged? The used parts shops I've talked to don't like to hassle with trim pieces because many times they don't fit interchangablely.

I would love to put alminum door trim guards on my silver '92 Q. The stock trim guards match the wheel well moldings, parts of the bumper, and skirt below the doors: the result is beatiful lines.

But if the door trim guards where aluminum, they would match the aluminum window trim and go well with the chrome door handles. Now with the door and window trim matching, I would paint the wheel well molding and bumpers to match the rest of car(silver). I believe the lines of the car would be even more beautiful with out looking "ghetto." The result would be similar to the countless new MB S500 and S600 here in Los Angeles, without having to pay over 6 figures. I hope the end result would still have the distinctive look of the 1st gen Q, but with a slightly updated elagant look that many new luxury cards have.
