I've looked at some threads where people used a bondo typa thing after cutting out the rust. Could some one link me to a write up on how to fix fender rust please? Thank you very much.

I wish I could do that but the rust like ate away at the fender and pieces are falling off. It's not really rust holes, but like patches making pieces fall out. I'll post pics later.

what they did didnt get rid of the rust. just covered it up. i used to work in a body shop and there is a few ways you can do it.

the easiest way is to sandblast the rust out till its gone and then use a pointy hammer and tap the edges inward. then fill that with fiberglass bondo. then sand and bondo then sand then glaze. or you can cut and weld.

Yeah the previous owner sprayed the whole car with primer to cover up all the rust on the car. Will the rust continue to eat away at the metal with the fiberglass over it?

To remove all the rust i'd have to cut about an inch of the fender out along the wheel well. =(
