Just new tires and wheels got my S13 coupe lowered to a nice height with coilovers but right now I am rubbing the fender liner up front when I make a wide turn. Tires are 215/45 on 17x7 wheels with 38mm offset. No spacers yet.

Should I ditch the fender liner and roll without it? Iwanted to keep them if possible and keep my ride height as is. Or would spacers help?

Your tires sidewall is too tall. Either switch to a 215/40/17 or, since you have coilovers, increase your ride height.

Removing your fender lining because you got the wrong tire sizes is like making a bad decision even worse, IMO.

Thanks for the reply, but by my calculations a 215/45/17 is less than 1/2" taller than a stock tire configuration. There are plenty of people out there fitting taller tires than this. I didn't "buy the wrong tires."

It's all a function of how low you are. Even a 1/4 of an inch is enough to rub if you're slammed. But if you're just dying to rip out your fender lining, knock yourself out.

Edit: I just read your other thread. Apparently, you aren't even that low. Another solution might be to spray paint your fender lining with a bright color so that you can see exactly where it's rubbing if you're not sure where. And then pound that spot out of the way with a hammer or rubber mallet. Then, of course, re-piant the lining black again. Less work than raising the car or pulling the lining out and cheaper than buying spacers....

just let it rub off. eventually it will stop rubbing. you'll wind with a small hole on the lining.
