you wont need flares. if you like the look, then by all means get them, but your going to need a better fitting wheel to pull that look off

I would imagine that 30 or 50 mm flares would be way too big for that tire/ wheel combo. 35 is a relatively low offset for a 9.5 inch wheel, and s13s have a pretty good amount of room in the back.

I believe Broadfield's car was rocking 265 series rubber on a 10inch, +40 or so offset wheel with no flares/wide fenders at all. His wheel specs are somewhere in one of the many threads on his car.

I have 255 tires on and they pop out almost 1" from the fender. That is way I made the thread. Tires are Potenza the rim has 3" lip. Could it be broken bushings???

1 inch = 25.4mm, Are you using spacers on those wheels? Also is the car lowered? you could always add a bit more negative camber to tuck the wheels in. If you're riding on stock suspension, take care of lowering the car first because that will have serious effects on your wheel fitment. On my S14 I had 255 Azenis 615's in the rear with an 18x8 +30 effective offset and it was still almost an inch sunk in.

Because those wheels should not be poking...

BTW... Broadfield's old setup was 18x10+44 275/35/18 in the rear and was perfectly flush. OP, what brand of tire are you running and what is the tire profile size?

Your car would ride very strangely if you had a broken bushing. Bushings don't really effect how the car is aligned, they are part of the control arm buffering the contact points so you don't get metal on metal friction. Your car would pop lie crazy with bad bushings.

What is your suspension setup? I think this is the biggest question at this point.

Ok yes indeed the 4 bushings from the sub frame are broken a couple from the part the bars atach on the hub area. Suspension Tokico shocks and Eibach Sport line.

This is crazy. You really should figure why your wheels aren't fitting right before you try to cover up the problem with fender flares. You don't have some wonky, cobbled together 5 lug conversion, do you?

Ultimately it's up to you but from pictures I've seen of s13's with that setup even with flares you will still be 4x4 status. If you are planning on lowering the car for some nice fitment don't bother with flares. Flares in general don't look good on 240sx cars. If you're overhanging an inch then 30mm flares will be fine. It will look bad and you will eventually want to lower your car. When you do that you will remove the flares and find rust under them. When you lower the car that 1 inch will disappear through the alignment.

Do the wheels stick out 1 inch on both sides? If so it can't be just the subframe. Even if the subframe had shifted, it would only stick out on one side.

I looks more on the driver side than on the passenger.

ok, so here is what you should do. put your car on a lift or on jackstands, take the rear wheels off and give the rear suspension a good look-over. Check and see if any suspension arms are moving. You've already said that the subframe bushings are shot, but that shouldn't have that much effect on how the wheels sit. If you have a shifted subframe you might have bigger issues. You need to find and fix the problems before considering aesthetics because that kind of issue can cost your your car.

An 18x9.5+35 275/35 should only poke out 9mm more than this... which is barely even noticeable to this point. A fender roll is all that should be required. Maybe a slight pull if you're slamming it. Of course, the more negative camber you dial in, the less fender pulling you'll need to do.

+35 is a good offset for fitting wide rubber in the back of a 240. u wont need over fenders at all. at most a roll.

I highly recommend polyurethane bushings. They are amazing compared to the stock rubber ones. I used PowerFlex, a company from Europe, but the energy suspension ones are just as good.

Pic to drive the point home...

This is a x8 +0 with 280z flares. that would equate to a x9.5 +38 as far as distance from the fender goes. You won't need any sort of flare/roll/pull to make your wheels fit.

But the thinks is that as rigjt now the car have the wheels and 255 tires and on the driver side they stick out 1" and on the pass. 1/2" Why??? do to the broken bushings??? Bad camber and toe??? I am glad not having to buy flares money saving for paint and side skirts, but I will like to solve this problem. Up front I have 18-8.5 with 35 offset Tires: 225-40 and they are flush.

what suspension modds do you have?you are probably running stock camber, which is very low/close to zero. if you run -2 degrees of camber and roll your fenders, you will be fine with your current and desired setup.

-2 is like enough to get the tires to tuck when lowered...and not at all i dont know what the degree of camber my friend seths old car had and it was waxing stangs and holding with corvettes with a na ka with some mild mods, lw flywheel, exhaust cam swap 242/242, advanced timing and no emisions, intake and a header, just about fully gutted. it was on coils slamed hand had the camber maxed out with fully adjustable parts (all megan) so i know his camber was way worse than two degrees he would eat up the inside of his tire in without drifting it two-three weeks, we made sure to never get directional ones so we could flip the tire and put the worn inner on the outside and get a couple more weeks out of the set, yours shouldnt be that bad if you dont race up and down busy highways
