I was wondering if it might be worth while to make a RB "General" subforum... I know it's been up for discussion before, but it would be nice to clear that kind of stuff out of the tech discussions, like my Michigan RB thread for example. It seems like a lot of RB guys here don't really get out of this forum very often (I know I don't), and most of our off/semi on topic stuff only applies to us anyway... or won't be checked out by our target audience. Just a thought...

Please add your opinions, for or against. I wanna see what EVERYONE thinks before i bring this up to the moderating/admin team. -Kamin

I think the RB forum is specific enough. Pretty soon you get too many subforums and nobody sees anything.

If you would like to see more general chat within the RB forum... perhaps we can talk about that with our Moderator ~ Kamin.

He tends to set the tone for our forum and he's pretty no-nonsense.. to the point, etc... I think I agree with him that the RB forum should be a technical forum, and he's done a great job with that.

I think he's done a great job of weeding out the bad posts that we all hate. But, on the other side, perhaps we've lost a little bit of the "fun" or conversationalism that we used to have.

It's an interesting thing to discuss. I think one of the coolest things about NICO is that we can collectively choose which way our forum goes.

If we all want to make this more of a general chat forum, I am sure Kamin will be cool with that.

Post your opinions boys and girls...

we had one before, neither got a real high post count. IMO it's better to bundle them together to keep the traffic higher and get peoples questions noticed quicker.

I say leave it. It's not like people post here so much that a thread gets lost. The last thread on the first page of topics was last updated 4 days ago.

One of the things I have seen on other forums is a sticky called "General non tech talk" or something like that. Basically it allow people to talk about general crap like RB get togethers, or painting your valve covers, etc..It keeps down the amount of new post that aren't related to tech issues. Similar to the For Sale thread.

my 2 cents, which ain't worth a penny

Yes! Then I could actually have my stupid thread about RB'ers on myspace.. And then I could start a gang and network! yeaaa!

I honestly don't see why it would HURT anything. It may take more time to manage/moderate, but it'll be a worthwhile operation in my opinion and clear the untechnical crap out of here.

Sorry i didnt respond to this a little earlier guys, Ive been away at SEMA all week and moderating all you little bastards was the last thing on my mind haha.

i try to keep this forum heavily technical because it is a tech forum. I am all for a RB general forum as we are a kind of unique group of people vs. SR/CA/KA people.

Also please keep adding your opinions. i see alot of votes and not alot of arguments eithre way. when we get a real discussion going I will bring this up with the powers that be and see what the other moderators/admins think. Just know i support it

I support it as well, but from past experience, it's not likely to happen... it just doesn't get enough traffic to warrant the need for one... so don't be surprised if it doesn't happen, but I support it
