It depends on the amount of rust, if its surface it might be salvageable...but you're probably better off selling it and getting another one. : (

Take the car to a bodyshop and see if they can do something about it. My friend had the same problem but he took it to a body shop and they fix the rust. Maybe they can do the same for you. If you really wanna stick with this car try everything first before giving up. I know I'm really attach to my car and even tought I can go and buy a newer car I wouldn't unless of course I can afford a 350Z then I have to let go.

ahh such a classic love story:

boy meets 240

boy falls in love with 240

boy drives 240 for short while

boy starts to realize the troubles that come with a 10+ year old car

boy pours money into 240.

240 rewards boy with years of faithful, reliable, enjoyable service.

AHH, i love my 240.

I was literally in love with my first car, my Probe GT. I sold it. For no real reason other than the fact I'd had it for 2 years and was tired of the automatic. I cried when I sold it. I often want to cry when I think about it long enough. I get sad when I see pictures of it, or hear the last song that played when I drove it for the last time.

Don't sell it. You'll regret it. I love my 240 just as much as I loved my PGT, I definitely do, but will never quite feel the same about another car again.

That's the saddest thing I've heard in a long, long time.

Why? It was an extremely nice car, especially for a first car, acquired when I was 15 before I even had my license. I bought it before I knew much of anything about cars and couldn't have been happier at the time.

It takes a Probe to love a Probe, I think. A lot of haters, but those who know them understand.

Hey at least you have it better than me...

Technically, I should be the owner of my car (chevy blazer, ew). However, since my dad decided not to sell the stock I own (he control's, im tech. a minor) its his.

So I can't sell that car and buy my 240... why? Because he doesn't ****ing feel like it, even though we'd be GAINING money.

Aint that a sad story? The 240 is so perfect i want to cry.

Edit - Even the seller was sad, she saw how interested I was in it :( :( :(
