Well I got my company car today. Its a Pontiac Vibe. Not something that I would buy for myself but all in all a nice ride. Its got wheels, sunroof, power everything,cd,cruise, and such. The Great news is that I can now sell my Spec V and go ahead with my goal of getting a 99+ G20t 5-speed and making it awesome!1 step down many many more to go.LOLhere is a photo of the new daily driver...Vibe :jester:

I prefer the toyota version of the car, but that's just me. anyhow, that's a nice company car to roll around in, compared to a Chevy Malibu :P

lol its funny that toyota and pontiac have a partnershp

I think the matrixes are so cool, i have never seen a vibe.

What do you mean you can "go ahead and seel the spec v" you were worried about having the Alty as a daily driver?? or you lined up a buyer

I had to drive the Spec V for work and was putting about 800 miles on per week.I could not drive the Altima or Vette to work for that reason.I got the Spec V just for that reason,I really wanted a WRX or something with boost but couldn't but lots of miles on a turbo car.Now im clear to Sell the Spec V and get a 99+ G20t to boost!Got to love the SR20DE.:D

GM and Toyota have had a long-standing partnership, it's just be revived now i guess. The Geo/Chevy Prizm=Corolla was a long running one.

How about the:

Mitsu Eclipse and the Eagle TalonMitsu 3000 and the Dodge StealthNissan Quest and the Mercury Villager

The SHO Taurus use to have a Yamaha engine

There are a lot of partnerships out there. I think that GM owns some stock in Fuji Heavy Industries which owns Subaru. GM also bought some stock in the sickly Daewoo.

Dane, the Vibe doesnt look bad, but I would rather take a matrix if I had the choice.

oh yes, i'm well aware of those other partnerships. I just was trying to think of any other toyota/GM co-ops besides the Matrix/Vibe, and Prizm/Corolla. i suppose that's all between the two companies.

I like the Matrix better also.I had no choice but am impressed with what I got.I was expecting a bottom line version and this one is loaded. One thing that sucks a bit is the fact that the Vibe is powered by a 1.8l.Getting out of the Spec V (2.5)and into the Vibe(1.8) is a big change in power. But it gets 28-33mpg so thats a big pluss.I just have to put performance out of my head till I get home.LOL

Free is certainly one my favorite 4-letter 4 words. My most unusual company car was an 4-speed Opel Manta fastback.(ok, a looong time ago) I dunno if anyone remembers them. It was a fun car. Anyway, it doesn't matter that a Matrix has a little nicer look. As long as the vibe is not a putrid color or splattered with logos/signs, it's fine as a daily driver. Enjoy it...

LMAO. Yeah I know I wont be pulling out of people in this.the 16v 1.8 is not a performance motor.I did have 3 people ive never met before make positive coments about it today. So it must not look too bad.

I remember them well - Looked like a 3/4 scale 3rd-gen Vette.

Very popular cult car - Good "swap" material.
