Car: Looking to buy 2015 Murano

Post

Was looking for some feedback fromm those of you who have had your 2015 Murano for a while. Have you had any problems with the transmission or anything else. We have been loyal Subaru but love the Murano look so its a little scary going from a 2006 Tribeca that has 200,000 miles and only been in the shop once and that was just recently.

Have about 2000 miles on my 2015 Murano. This is the best driving car I have ever owned and I have owned 25 cars, vans motorcycles etc. over the years. Not a problem yet and just got back from a long trip loaded to the max with people and luggage and getting 25.5 mpg mixed driving. :-)

We traded our 2010 Murano EL with 160,000 trouble-free km for a 2015 SL in January. We are up to 15,000 km on the 2015 so far and are averaging better than 10 litres per 100 km overall. No problems thus far.

The 2015 is better than the 2010 in every way. Rides better, handles better is MUCH quieter and better equipped. We love it.

I bought a 2015 Murano Platinum AWD one month ago and have noted that the handling is very touchy at speed. Too touchy. You are always overcorrecting and the car does not track well. Any little road irregularity will send it off course, and it takes more effort than normal to keep it in your lane. In other words, it is not enjoyable to drive on a freeway at freeway speeds.
Now you ask, who the heck am I to say that? Good question. I have had 2 other Muranos--all great handling, I am a retired military pilot and airline Captain, I have had many cars including Porsche's. MB's, BMW's Lexus, etc. I have taken several high performance and racing school courses. I hope I know how a car should handle, and my 2015 Murano does not handle well. It has been back to the dealer twice so far (1000 miles total) had alignment checked and they say--as usual--that this behavior is normal for this car. Please note that city street handling is fine--only freeway driving at speed is an issue with me.
Anyone else have this experience? --it is subtle but it is there if you pay attention--at least on my car.

Hi all! Just bought mine 2 weeks ago, very happy with everything but the gas eating allure! I'm averaging 19 to 27 l/100km in city, and 9 to 12 l/100km on highways... Very far from the seller speech who told me 8.5 in citys and 11.5 on highways... Maybe i dont know how to drive it, maybe it has a problem, maybe it's supposed to seallow that much gas...? Your thoughts on this one guys? Have a good day everyone :)

Your numbers are all over the place. I think you are confused about it. Murano spends less fuel on highway than in city - it can't be opposite. Check your numbers so we can talk, otherwise it's nonsense. Maybe read a bit about how engine works and about how fuel is consumed - you are probably far from been a tech person, but it shouldn't be too difficult to understand how this works.

From bunch of reviews (like 30 of them) and my personal 3 test drives - nothing like that. Actually everyone praises how good new 2015 Murano keeps the road and how easy it is to steer and overall great drive experience. I've heard none of thta issues so far. IMHO either you are overly sensitive after your sporty biography or have a bad alignment issues.

Dushash, Exblow's figures are consumption not mileage. He is using litre per 100 km, not miles per gallon. His figures makes sense.

Exblow, see what your overall consumption is after 1,000 miles or so. I am getting better than 10 litres per 100 km overall, city and highway. Numbers will improve once the engine is broken in.

For the record, 10 litres per 100 km works out to about 23.5 miles per U.S. gallon.

Thks... I did switch the 2 numbers on my previous post...my bad
So nissan told me my murano would go about 9l /100km on highways and 12 in citys... Right now ( i checked this morning) i am about 25 l /100km (mostly city) , i gased full tank 5 days ago , and after 49 km i have 3/4 of my tank left! So yes, i'm far from being a tech or a pro pilot, or even an english speaking person... But i'm not happy with those numbers, should i? ( my drive is pretty smooth, i never go above 2k rpm, even on starts)
