Just wanted to share with you guys the cars that are going to be featured in the calendar. They are listed in order of votes with the highest count first and lowest winning counts last. Note that this is not necessarily the order in which they will appear in the calendar. I will be handing all the media and information over to our photo-shopping editors in the next couple days hopefully!

Once again, thanks everyone for your continued participation in this project!

Dang, today was a good day. I finished my 5spd swap and drove my car for the first time and found out I made it into the calender.

Just want to address a few things...

Guys who didn't make it, don't be discouraged. I'm hoping the vert calendar is something we can keep alive as an annual thing - so there's always next year! I was a bit surprised by the outcomes... some of the cars I thought were a shoe-in didn't make the cut and some of the cars I didn't think had a chance made it in (like mine... wtf?). The selections were made based on popular vote. So for whatever reasons, this is what we've got.

So don't be discouraged, let it be a motivator to you. Get your cars polished up, get your upgrades installed, and get some good pictures taken!

As far as when the calendars will be available... I don't know that we'll get them done in time for Christmas, which is what I was hoping, but it will be close. I don't want to put a bunch of pressure on the guys who agreed to help with the photo-editing since they're volunteering their time and resources for this. The should definitely be ready in time for you to order them and have them on the wall by the new year. As soon as things develop, I'll keep you all informed.

Cost.... I'm not going to have an exact price until they're done. Expect to pay something between $15-18. I don't think it'd be more than $20 shipped. Again, when I have details, I will provide them.

boyer, you had the most exotic backdrop, a clean vert with some subtle cosmetci upgrades - it was a GREAT picture. Something everyone should notice is that the rest of the picture matters, not just the car. The backdrop, setting, action, stance of the car, landscape, contrast between sky and ground, etc all have a play in what people like to see.

Once again, everyone, thank you for your participation! This wouldn't be possible without your help! Keep up the good work with your cars and keep taking LOTS of pictures!

Great work Dex!

We'll definitely continue the tradition. We have a TON of calender worthy cars, but only 12 spots available per year. So don't sweat it if you didn't make it this year.

One thing to keep in mind is that calenders are more dependent on the photography than they are of the car itself. That was something we stressed in each post that has been made throughout the process. In almost every case, it was the photo that made the calender rather than the car.

I'll use Dex as an example because I know he won't be offended. His car is nowhere near what he wants it to be. Def. needs paint, and if my memory serves, I don't think he even likes the silvia front on the car. BUT... it's a great action shot. Same goes for Dompower...

One more thought to share... I actually sort of wish my car wouldn't have been voted in this year. I've been thinking next year's calender would be the better one to be in. My reasoning is that next year we'll have more support, more interest, and much more time to plan and participate. Which means we'll be able to put together a better product. Perhaps we can get enough orders in to get them printed through NICO's regular calender printer rather than the CafePress deal we're using this year??

Word^^^

I think the calendar does a good job showing the wide variety of verts we have in this forum.

I personally dont like looking at dolled up show cars all the time, shots of personality and battle scars, cars half stripped out with glowing sparks from a welder, or smoke billowing from behind them mid drift are inspiring and exciting.

I am glad the calendar went that direction instead of showing only pretty to look at cars, after all i dont want to feel like i am looking a restored mustang calendar.

Now we know what it takes to get in, now we can work on making next years better!
