hey everyone, i'm new here so take that into consideration

i'm 18 and fairly new into the whole scene of getting deep into cars but don't judge me right off the bat. I'm super into it and i know what's realistic and not, but i do need some help since i'm not very knowledgeable on the topic yet.

I've been looking into what upgrades i can realistically do to my '09 2.5 S coupe to make it quicker other than cai's and all that. By no means am i looking to turn it into a race car, but i'd like to be able to keep up with my buddy's who all have 6 cylinders. Thanks in advanced!

i'm trying to keep it under $1000 for now which i know probably won't get me very far. now that i'm looking at the scenario, it doesn't make sense to do much work to a car that isn't a 6 cylinder, if i'm looking for power, that is.

To be honest, your best bet is to get a CAI like you said, a new header for it, and a catback exhaust. Based on what you said, that's about all you can do under your budget.
