Yeah

make sure you have the correct drivers for your USB to serial adapter if you have one

Make sure the datalogit has the correct COM port selected

usually its one of those two things, USB converters are always a pain int he ***, it can work on one computer and not another, they suck, you jstu got to play with it and figure it out.

How can I find the correct COM port? The COM opens but when I go to get the info from my ECU I get an error that says "interface not responding"

You can select different com ports from a drop down menu at the top of the screen.

If that doesn't work, your USB converter might not be working correctly, and thats a pain in the butt.

This happened to me one time and it took me like 2 hrs of going through the trouble shooting on my USB manufacturers website. It finally worked though. So if you think this is the issue, look up your USB company and start that.

Are you using the USB cable supplied with the datalogit software?

Your usb converter is listed as a device in the device manager. Go to the control panel>System>device manager>ports, then find your USB to serial converter or whatever it is, and it will list which com port it has reserved for the device (ie com port 4, COM4). then select the proper port in the program you are running. and like it was said above, ensure you have the proper drivers installed.

Maybe someone can clarify this more than me, but certain USB converters won't work with the datalogit unit and I can't remember the difference in them. Maybe cdorhout can chime in because he knows what I'm talking about. But if you don't buy their USB to COM converter, you risk buying one that is not compatible with the software.
