what vacuum should i hook my boost gauge to? fpr? can i hook it up to one that goes to the canister? i know it has to be manifold pressure but it would be right? yea. i'm new at all this gauge stuff..help needed

you want your boost/vacume source to be as close to the manifold as possible .. find a line on the manifold cut it and put a t in line and hook it up to your gauge .. most boost guages come with a t .. i have seen a few people who havnt had very good luck with the faze guages reading very acuratly though ..

thanx man. that'll make it see boost to right?.. what were the problems with readings?

there just not very accurate .. ive seen them read off by as much as 5psi compaired to our dyno .. so there kinda more a novilty ..

My faze gauge is perfect.. reads exact..

Just find some kind of intake manifold vacuum source.

mabey ive just happend to run into bad ones .. then again im used to installing defi guages and ive even seen them read off a lil before ..

well boost gauge installed and works excellent. reads about 7 psi when i floor it and about 20 vacuum when idle.. how is that??

20 is about right at idle

thanx for the help element. project for wenesday is to play with the idle air control valve to try and get it to stop surging! its so stupid..i work at autozone and my boss told me it could be that or coolant temp sensor or something, anyone else got suggestions. it's the only thing left to fix!

have you ever had problems with a stock smic and keeping the piping on. it keeps breaking the clamps and popping them off! i'm gonna get a fmic in a couple months i jus need a solution for now cause it pisses me off when i gotta stop on the side of the road and reconnect my ic pipes!

try pulling off the hoses and cleaning any oil thats in them out .. if that dosnt work get yourself some t bolts that should solve the problem ..

yea i cleaned them tonight. so i'll install them and get back to you.holy ****! i finished the install and it seemed to hold. but aparentally my hood latch didn't want to! it flipped up. smashed my windshield and dented my roof fiercely!
