Faulty Boost Sensor

Hi Guys - I think my boost sensor is faulty. I have boost but the car misfires at idle and I have nothing on the stock boost gauge even though I am getting boost. I recently replaced the vacuum lines so thats not it.

The gauge works sometimes but not at all times, when the gauge works the car runs much better but when its malfunctioning I think the car is running in "safe mode."

I haven't been able to find a replacement online and the dealer looks like its a 500+ plus part. Could somebody let me know if have a lead on this part or should would you just say screw it and add a boost controller and external boost gauge?

I have been battling with myself to keep the car as stock as possible but my attitude is starting to change a bit because I cant find the part at a reasonable price.
