I came across this article in my local paper. It seems like she was waiting to turn left and the dump truck ran a red light. The speed limit on the road the truck was travelling on was 60km/h.

I still think the Rogue is a relatively safe car, but it's definitely not a match for a dump truck in a side collision. From the picture, the driver's seat area doesn't appear to have too much damage. Very unfortunate loss of a life.

Wow, that's terrible. Honestly, there aren't too many cars that would hold up to that kind of a collision. Still really horrible though.

I don't like to see stuff like that... :(

A ~14000lb dump truck (empty) vs. a 3200lb CUV... the dump truck wins every time.

Drive safe out there people!

It is a little concerning that a 25 year old driver was killed by a passenger side impact. Very sad.

G-forces at work. Seat belt use also makes a huge difference. My sister was t-boned in March 09 by a woman driving an Oldsmobile Delta 88 (big car) and the woman's passenger was killed on the unhit side of that car. My sister was driving a 2008 Nissan Frontier truck and was severely injured as was the driver of the 88.

Many factors come into play in vehicle crashes.

Be safe, slow down!!
