Fastlane - 350Z vs. BMW Z8

you guys see that new show on Friday? Anyway, script called for the U.C. agent to get into a ring of gangsters. One of his tests was to keep up with their current driver, some smoking chick riding in a new 350Z!! Buddy pulls up in his Z8, and earlier in the show, you can hear him bragging about tuning the car for another 85HP (a real fair race, huh?).

Anyway, made for some good cornering and manuevering. The script called for the 350Z to lose, but man, it was nice seeing Nissan's new Z take on a Z car about triple its value, and keep up well.

Any ideas on how a real 350Z vs. Z8 battle would end up?

i dunno, but i think the 350z would hold its own against the Z8. i dunno the weight and stuff of the Z8, but i bet its more than the 350. but who cares who wins, it would be an amazing sight to see IMO.

The Z8 would own a 350Z given drivers of equal ability. It has 400hp stock, and we all know how BMW roadsters handle. Slight price difference however.

I love the new 350Z but it would be OBLITERATED by a Z8. The Z8 is a low 12sec car while the 350Z would be lucky at 14sec or very high 13's. The VQ's probably the best production n/a nissan engine ever, but it can't touch the Z8's 5-liter with 8 individual, electronic servo throttle bodies and Double VANOS. English translation: the Z8 produces much more power throughout it's entire powerband.

I think the only performance category in which the Z beats the Beamer is in the slalom.

The old Z3 or the new Z4 roadster would be a much more even match.

the nissan 350z runs a 14.1 1/4 milez8 runs 12.8 (or close to it)assuming that the driver of the z8 was a half decent driver the z8 should destroy the 350z

i actually talked to a guy who owns a z8, he said that it handles very well and is very very fast

Ok but what about the Z4? The Z8 is in a dif class of cars and the comparisment isnt really fair to the 350z.

I mean, really, who can't pass up fast cars, half-naked chicks ANDtwo people from my past - Bill Bellamy and Tiffani Amber Thiessen (Kelly! for those who remember those days)!

Back to the subject, I remember watching that episode and saying to myself. I love Nissans, and I love the 350z, but I'm sorry, it's no match for a Z8.

Yea the Z8 is like 3 times the cost of the 350Z so who cares? and they are fast as hell too, i have driven one! But for the Z4, the 350z could easily take it. i have driven both cars and the 350z is much faster.

i agree, the Z8 would spank the 350z, but with all the money saved buying a 350Z, imagine the tuning possibilities?!?!?

I still think Nissan would have the last laugh, oh, and in the show, it wasn't just straights they were driving in. Alot of hairpins, couple you-ees, you guys gotta see that episode, 350 was right on the z8's tail! 350z was out of its class, but held its own if i do say so
