I know at least one guy has an RB20DET. I doubt he runs 12's, but keep in mind most tracks will have rules about how fast you can run a 'vert without a roll cage ... actually any car for that matter.

yeah, thats another problem i have, i really don't want to put a cage in the vert, wouldn't look good IMHO. I'm starting to think i should have just got a coupe, but i really love my vert though

Yea, I'm running into a similar predicament.... Starting to consider a hatchback as a project car.

I'm putting a cage in mine eventually, but whatever.

fastest vert is prolly the one on here that ran mid 12's with an upgraded sr20.

Well when my motor was in my hatch I was hitting low 13s all day, so ill just have to make a little more power to hit the same numbers in the vert.

I can't picture myself ever getting rid of my vert, too much fun for such a cheap car.

By next spring my vert with have 300ish rwhp or a vg30dett in it. Doing the vg30dett swap this summe rin my hatch.Depending on how hard it is depends on what I do with the vert.

If I ever finish mine, it should be in the low-13's.

I'll bet Eikon's is faster than that.

Thanks for the compliment, but at the moment, it's not too fast. I do have an RB20det. But, it's running stock boost with minimal mods so far. 210hp is stock rate.

Probably run high 14's right now.

I have a boost leak that I don't really feel like finding and fixing. I will have a new intake manifold and front mount intercooler installed this spring, so any time I spend on the intake piping would be a waste of time... The cars in the garage until then anyhow.

With the new intake and IC and shorter piping I might get to low 14's or at very best high 13's.

The next stage after that would be to upgrade the turbo and increase boost. I am planning a t3/to4e turbo upgrade. I already have the injectors. So I would just need to get the turbo, a boost conroller and engine management of some kind. With those upgrades the RB20det will support up to 400 whp. I think I'd be more than happy with 300 - 350. Hopefully then I'll run 12's...

But, that's a ways off - due to both time and money issues.

go to lowes and get a rubber cap that will fit your turbo inlet, then go to pep boy's and buy a threaded valve stem. drill a hole in the middle of the cap, install the valve stem, tighten it, install it over your turbo inlet and pressurize it with a tank of air. Easy way to find boost leaks! You will hear the air rushing out. Just becareful not to use like 50 psi or you could break things.

That's a very good way to do it...

But, I won't be driving the car until I take it to the shop that's finishing my intake in March. Since were going to completely redo the entire induction system, any time I spend out in my freezing garage until then is a waste of time.

Mine should be in the low 13's but unless I get a G-tech I don't really have a way to find out. All the tracks are still closed for the winter AND there's no quarter mile tracks around here only 1/8th's

My buddy with the fastest SRT-4 in town was about dead even with me (he pulled very slightly) before I did some tuning, and he runs low 13's. I still have a little more tuning to do, but my setup is good for ~280 rwhp. I'm anxious to see what it'll do though....the launch is always the hardest part. In my old 180SX with this setup revving to about 3000 - 3500 rpm and slipping the clutch on the launch a little yielded the best results, any less you'd bog, any more you'd burnout. My brother and I got into Option Two and Young Version magazines racing our 180's at the Trust drags in Ryugasaki when we figured out exactly what SR's like to launch at....that was too cool!

I have an rb26dett in my vert which was converted to rhd. I ran a 13.7 with my share of traction problems and a few other issuse so I know the car has more in it. It was also with stock turbo's and waste gate pressure boost.

pics or ban!

also whats the point of doing rb26 in an s13 if you are gonna run stock turbos?

its a badass swap but thats not really taking advantage of it. For the kind of power you could have an SR and spent half the money and time.

I AGREE ALSO I MEAN TO SAVE SPACE IN THE SWAP YOU CAN PUT A VERY NICE SINGEL TURBO..

well the car is not done by any means. It does run and drive very well but I'm not finished with it yet. I would like to get a wide body on it, paint, wheels, fuel system, larger turbos. I do have some pictures but I will have to resize them. I sent them to azhit man a while ago to resize them so maybe greg can post them since he runs this place.

Thank YouCorbitt

that is actually a vg30dett(maybe a vg30de, but i doubt it), but it only has one turbo on it. the real vg30det has a different intake manifold design.

but it is a single turbo. My question was, where will you put the drivers side turbo on a vg30dett. Your answer was that picture, which doesn't have a drivers side turbo. Is that what you are planning on doing?

Actually that is a left hand drive car, he inverted the brakemaster cylinder so its under the dash. The 240sx has just as much engine bay space as a 300zx, if not more.

I know about that car already, I've read about it and seen lots of pictures. I just wanted to know what florida 240 was planning on doing with his, since there are also swapped variants running the stock brake master cyl.

Mine did a 13.9 at 99.3 mph with a 2.4 60 foot with a factory SR, factory boost and decent 205 tires!

Some places here in canada wont let me get into a 13sec even without the cage! This race was a SCC event so it wants a big deal! I was going to throw in a cage but then other projects came along and a 350hp convertible would have to wait to some other day for me.
