does anyone know who has the fastest sr20det in the u.s. (1/4 mile times)? it would be interesting if one started to compete against the rotary and supra guys.....

a 3rd gen rx7 with the sr20 in it runs mid 10s but im not sure if its the fastest

It is currently owned by the owner of NRG Performance The fastest sr20det equipped vehicle that is highly publicized is the SRX-1, which is 3rd Gen rx-7 with 545whp. 10.50 @ 139 mph. I don't know of any other ones out there that can do it right now.

I will tell you this... the guy who drives the SRX-1 is probably the best driver you will ever meet. There may be a few other cars running around that have the potential to go as fast or faster but making them do it is another story. Shaun is also a world champion speed boat racer. He specializes in drag racing. He can whoop most people with their own cars. He actually won the drag racing event at Moroso with the SRX-1.

Granted that its a rediculously good 1/4 time, I highly doubt that a 10.50 is the fastest...

enjuku's drag car ran the quarter 12.80 @ 109 with 240whp, the car now makes 544hp. And were not even talking in the relm of 6-7-800hp built SR's that are out there.

400m = (1/2)(9.8m/s^2)(t^2)t = 9.035s

I agree that there are probably other cars out there will beat a 10.50. But no one has seen one ACTUALLY RACE AND DO IT in an officially sanctioned event.

Another thing is the driver guys. There are many 10 second cars out there but there aren't many drivers that can make them go 10 seconds. Shaun from NRG and Derek Greaser are two drivers that have mad skills. Derek Greaser ran 10.85 with 385whp in an S13. Imagine what Derek could do with Enjuku's car that has 175 more whp with proper traction. I think the fastest Enjuku has ran is a high 11 with all that horsepower.

As far as the 12.80, that is excellent for 240whp. Hopefully I will be able to run that this weekend. I made 244 whp and have LSD and drag radials.

I JUST SAW the new importtuner at the drug store, and it's got this FD3sr20 in it.... couldn't afford it, but it's in there...

i think mckinney motorsports sr powered datsun 510 runs high 9's. im not 100% sure though i dont remember.

I ran 13.5 on 190tq and 180 hp, is that any good? My trap speed was only 99mph but i let of the gas at the end cause i though the trip lights where in the wrong place. This was on a stock sr20det in a s13 with s14 lsd, and 5 year old drag radials. My new setup should be in the 450hp area, we will see what i can pull with my new m/t's.

In the article they say it has a stock bottom end. I think that is the record IMO.

The fastest SR powered car that I know of.. is Jamie Farrer's B13 Sentra SE-R drag car. It ran 9.20's @ 150+ mph. It was featured in Turbo Magazine years ago. Also, this is still a full uni-body. No backhalving.. or anything like that. Also, it runs on a retuned factory ECU.. tuned by Jim Wolf Technology.
