I don't really go any faster than 80 mph. I don't have the need to zoom down the roads like a mad person.

How about you?

I don't drive that fast... at least not anymore. We have some very stiff penalties for speeding in Ontario. Canada. Exceeding the posted speed limit by more than 30mph (50km/h) results in an automatic vehicle impoundment and license suspension if you get caught. The new laws were recently brought in to combat street racing.

As for how fast I have driven, I once had a friends race car up to 140mph (235km/h) on the race track (road course, not drag strip).

I agree. I used to think it was cool to drive like a maniac. I have since grown up and gained some responsibility

There are reasons why there are speed limits. They're not there to piss you off and control you, but are there to keep you and others safe. Some roads are not built to handle high speeds. On the freeway, I will go whatever the flow of traffic is going. Some speed limits on our freeways are 75, but I won't go over 80.

However, these days speed limits mean nothing, at least they don't here in Utah. It's more of a suggestion then a law. Most of the police officers here are just as bad or worse then the other drivers.

155. Desolate highway in Utah. Definite "pucker territory", and I'd never do it again.

140 on a track. Spectacular.

Something around 120. Have a picture on my camera. I wrote this topic a while ago but Phillipa recommended to remove a pic from website.

My personal race car was an S13 with a KA24E (I/H/E) plus suspension, 300ZX brakes and a half rollcage. I easily hit the speed limiter (110mph) in that car on the bigger tracks. I miss that car...

about 100 in my rogue (still handled suprisingly well), 140 in my old civic, and 185 on my friends bike (way beyond "pucker" territory, moving into "loosing control of bowels" territory ha ha)

I actually meant what's the fastest speed you drive IN YOUR ROGUES (but you can post about other cars too if you want...just specify which car it was).

Sorry, saw the title and just made a jump. Closest thing to a Rogue I've owned was my old lifted Cherokee, got pulled over at 105 in that one.

The Rogue has a speed limiter around 110mph. Although I have never explored this, I believe others have.

I do not "usually" exceed the speed limit, but I do drive to work at 4:30 in the morning on a long and straight stretch of freeway where I have only seen a cop once over the last 18 years.

I have verified the 110 mile per hour "limiter" on more than a few occasions. My Rogue is solid and relatively quiet (not even much wind noise with my roof rack cross bars).

In the Rogue I've gotten over 90mph but not for a extended period of time. That was my trip last summer to Canada. My girlfriend got a ticket on I66 in VA going 92mph. Right before she got pulled, I pointed out her speed and suggested she slow down. But who am I but an "OLD MAN". LOL I generally feel safer at 85mph and below.

In my 05 Titan and 03 Ram I've maintained the floorboard on long trips exceeding 100mph for extended distances. Both were governed at 105mph? but I would exceed that but generally set cruise at or around 100mph. Coming back from Orlando last year towing my trailer I got pulled in GA for going 95mph. The officer let me off with a warning. He was just impressed the Titan could pull a 26ft camper at that speed. Honestly, the Titan ran circles around my RAM Hemi! LOL. OH, and then there was the 05 Durango HEMI which a buddy and I took on a trip and maintained 120mph on I95.

I hit a bird at 115mph in my Accra in '96 and it left the feather imprint in the windshield. Scared the hell out of my brother, as he thought the bird was coming through the windshield.

In my RX7 R1 I exceeded 100mph all the time. I cruised through down town Charlotte at 90+ in a 35mph. I think that was in 1993, so I've grown a bit and slowed down with the failing eye sight and motor skills. LOL.

Burried the speedo once in my 1974 Nova 350SS. Speedo went to 120 and I had it far to the right. Man I was nuts at 17. But the Rogue will cruise quiet well at triple digit speeds if needed.

I saw your post about the 110 mph govenor the other day so yesterday I decided to check it out. I got pulled over doing 84 in a 60. Thank god for radar detectors otherwise it would have been 110 in a 60. I slowed down from 110 to 80 as fast as I could but there is only so much good brakes can do. I don't know what it is about this car but I've had it for 6 months and have gotten three tickets already. I had a honda civic for 6 years, drove much, much faster and only got 1 ticket in that 6 years. Oh well, I guess it's a $250 lesson to drive slower. At least I'll get better gas mileage.

The speed limiter is a soft limiter that just stops the car from go faster regardless of how hard you press the accelerator. The drive-by-wire electronic throttle makes this possible.

This is unlike older Nissan's that would actually cut the fuel to the motor for several seconds.

I did 110mph in my old Ford Focus going down 641 in PA. I stopped doing that when I realized they post a cop at a random point on the straight strip every now and again. Then again I only did it at night.

The fastest I have done in my '09 rogue was more like 70 doing the limit.

I've taken both my Rogue and my old Pathfinder to their 110 mph limiters...and it's the fastest I've driven. However, that would be different if only I had access to faster cars.

A good friend of mine has an LS1 powered 240sx... yes it's a GM 5.7L V-8 stuffed into a 1989 Nissan 240SX. It's his dedicated race car (road courses, not drags) and it's not street legal. It's rated about 340hp at the crank and the car weighs around 2800lbs. Why put an LS1 in a 240SX? Racing puts alot of stress on a car and he was running the stock motor fully built with a turbo. It was strong but unreliable and expensive to maintain. It was far cheaper to put in a big V-8 (no turbo and under little stress at stock hp ratings) and concentrate on racing instead of constantly wrenching on the car!

He reportedly can reach speeds in excess of 250km/h or 155mph at the racetrack. Since it's not street legal, he hasn't run it on a straight stretch of road long enough to verify a true top speed. But's it's a race car built for cornering, not top speeds. He actually would like to shorten up the gearing for better acceleration, 5th and 6th gear on the T56 transmission are just way too high.

Truely, the fastest I have ever driven has been on race tracks. I don't speed (anymore) on public roads. The fines are just too big here in Ontario and it's become far too dangerous... lot's of inexperienced drivers IMHO.
