Now you can buy all this **** back when these cars first started going this big it was mostly you had to make what you wanted. Such as SOUND PERFORMANCE, BOOST LOGIC, WOTM,TITAN MOTORSPORTS they are all on the same thing that AMS is just now doing with build parts for the KA. Look go to turbo240.com you can build an exact ****in replica of ivan's car all you need is a "trust fund h0m0" or someone that has a decent job. Oh and there ya go Bring up IVAN'S CAR! how many other KA-T's are in the 8's? oh wait never mind there isn't any. How many KA-T's are in the 9's? How many KA-T's are in the 10's? compaired to 2J powered cars. Sure they are easier to make the power but why is that? is that cause Toyota built a BETTER MOTOR? Oh cool some dude (1 of them) Makes 500HP on a KA24... How long have Honda people been doing that? How long has SR people been doing that. **** 500HP out of a 2J is still considered BOLT ON POWER!

And like i stated before.

HOW is a 9.1 and a 8.3 CLOSE to the same time????? That is ALMOST 1 WHOLE SECOND! What does it take to make your car 12.9? Then what does it take to make it run an 11.9? How many S-Chassis guys are even in the 10's? You CLEARLY have no ****ing idea on how drag racing works and how much 1 second is let alone a 1/2 second.

PLEASE tell me a VALID! point as to why a 8.1 @ 170+ MPH car is not impressive IN ANY TRIM!
the ka is also not meant to be a full on racing engine. that is why people are amazed at what it is capable of. a 2jz is a diff class engine not like a sr but a rb in nissan terms. and rb's make the same power as 2j's with bolt ons.

sure, RBs can make the same bolt on power up to 500hp? ish then what do you need for 800whp?

Oh and the Honda B16 was made as a "FULL ON RACING ENGINE" those things have been making 500+ WHP for the last decade.

lol ur ignorant if u think a rb26 cant make the same kind of power as a 2j for the same amount of money. and i dont even understand ur honda statement.

hmmm not to sure how hard it would be to drive it on the street.

LIKE i said earlier in this thread. My buddy has a 1995 Supra 6spd with a 3.2L stroker motor and a GT47-80 To this cars's 3spd TH400 And a 3.4L Stroker and a GT47-88. I Actually know a guy who has a 93 Supra with this exact build and he puts about 1500 miles on it a month. Which is more then i think some people that have a SR swap drive there cars. so yeah you could drive that on the street, where as that FULL ON ALKY DRAGSTER that goes thru all it's gas in 1 run. and where the blower needs rebuild after what ever weekend? isn't at all street legal.

Ok Please, ENLIGHTEN ME THEN! what does it take to "safely" run 800WHP on a RB26. Does it need Rods? Pistons? Cams? Headwork?

I know of supra guys running STOCK BOTTOM END with headwork and cams with bolt ons and a big turbo making 800WHP.

so please let me know what you'd need to run 800whp. I Know RB's can make the same power as 2J's but even with the BIGGEST STROKER KIT out there for the RB26 it is still less displacement then the 2JZ. Unless you build a RB30DET which oh so commmon these days.

And the Honda comment is towards all the d-bags saying how amazing it is that there "underrated regular car/truck motor" KA24DE is making 500WHP when the Honda B-Series has had people making 500WHP out there 1.6L ECONO BASED 4cyl for over a f'n decade.

yeah cause honda engineers a bad *** engine that is why. anyway, im pretty sure that rb's can run up to 600whp on the stock bottom end then (at least on 25s) the ring lands start to get tore up pretty easily, as i understand it. the 2j cant be run much higher normally with a stock bottom end. notice i said normally. they are both known to be bullet proff and able to create above a 1000 hp. so stfu ur not teaching me anything and are coming off as a pric to various long time members on here. and i dont give a **** what ur buddy has if it aint ur's shut ur mouth u didnt build it. no bench racing please.

THANK YOU! FOR PROVING THAT THE HONDA B-SERIES IS BETTER THEN THE NISSAN 4POPPER!

Dude, IT IS A PROVE FACT! that 2J's can hold 800Hp on STOCK BOTTOM END! your ignorant if you don't believe be. please check out http://www.supraforums.com if you don't.

*Just for the record, I never said the times were almost the same, I said that Ivan got that close to a 1400 bhp car with half the horsepower. So, in that regard, imagine what time Ivans car would put down with 1400-1600 hp...*

I know how much is needed to knock 1 second off your ET. I'm not retarded, and as far as your "non-linear time line" frame of mind. Yes, it would have been impressive if back in 1993 this was a headline, but considering that the 2JZ has enjoyed 15 years of R&D, and nobody until the past several years has been putting any time or energy into the KA, I find it hard to get a chub for this car. Now, like I said, I fully understand that 1 second is a mile marker in drag racing, a vehicle of the same chassis, being prepped in much the same way making under half the horsepower with 2 less cylinders getting within that 1 second mark is impressive. Call me thick, or retarded, but more than myself feel the same way. Like I said, I love the 2J, I love the RB, I hate the SR, and I have a full unadulterated respect for the underdog, be it the KA, or Hondas SOHC non v-tec D series. I get my rocks off to outlandish seemingly unaccomplishable numbers from tiny little engines that the after market doesn't even glance at until someone does it all by themselves, and the parts makers feel they can turn a buck.

It's great that they put a 2J in a 240, it's great that he wants to sell it for way less than it's worth at 22k. It's great that you think it's some monumental feat, but myself, it's like pitting a jet with the Wright brothers glider. As stated, maybe 15 years ago, people didn't have anything for their 2Js, but 15 years later there is no need to make one off parts, it's all readily available for a price. The KA on the other hand, you find me a dry sump set up that I wont have to completely one off just as an example. The engine is older than the 2J, but everyone was too encompassed by the SR to give it a second thought.

I can argue with you all day, but obviously, you have your view and I'm not trying to change it, and I have my view, and you're not going to change it. I would feel the same way if it was an RB as well just sos you knows.

I hold no man as my god. Ivan is just another face, same with celebs, and musicians. You're arguing my point. I said earlier that Craig ran his Supra with a stock block. Yes, I am very enthralled by Hondas making a ton of horsepower, but in this case I would prefer some low end torque too. I can't really say that a Honda engine is any better than a Nissan engine, but Honda did enjoy a lot more technology in their production engines. At the same time though, I hate the B series, and V-tec is waaaay over rated, Kinda like the SR haha.

I see where you are coming from on that aspect of the arguement, But it's no one else's but the Owners and builders fault that the KA didn't get aftermarket parts up untill the last 3-5 years. IF people would of showed more intrest in them in the early-mid 90's like the supra owners did the KA would be much better off then it is now. But you have to admit anything that goes 8.1 at 170+ is impressive exspecially a 4/6 cly.

You said too tha ivan is making 1/2 the HP this one is. HP isn't all it needs. If Ivan ran a TH400 or a C4 or even a Powerglide that car would be faster then it is right now. That car can and could and will go faster. it's just amatter of putting that much to the ground. I bet that 2J'd S14 didn't run the 8.1 on some 1600WHP cause that would be a feat in its self to get it to the ground.

Agreed, and that's all I'm trying to say. A powerful KA is harder to come by. Like you said, for $1000 in a turbo upgrade, and some mild messaging of the head, any Tom, d!ck, Jane, or Harry can have a 800+ hp 2J. There are a lot more items to address for the KA, for example its half weighted crank. Big draw back to high number making. That's what stopped my build in it's tracks. If I'm putting it together, I want to do it right, and I don't have the 3-4k to drop on a fully counterweighted crank damn it.

It's ok though, glad we understand each other.

Yeah, that was my fault. I was just quoting the price at the time of my post. If they intended to keep the car streetable, the chute is removable. Keeping the cage would be a better idea, theres some high density foam on the market that will keep you from cracking your skull open, but driving like an adult can keep that from happening.
Soravia wrote:Why does he have ballons on the wheels of his S14.5 instead of tires?
Can't tell if you're being sarcastic, if you're not, they're drag tires. Designed for low pressure to help the car hook. If you were being sarcastic, disregard the above lol.

or i could just go on random forums and make up bs and make mod lists so i get accepted by people who actually have cars. Or just not do anything at all to a car and just suck c*** of those who do have cars. or i could tell people i'm going to put a 2jz in my (girlfriends)240 or i oculd tell them i'm gonna do some tt300zx pistons in my z31 that's never run and i never drove, and that took me an hour to change a rim on. And after that i could tow it to the car wash and wash it and take some pictures of it......Then end up selling it for 500 bucks to people who get it running in a week. And after that just sit on the internet and **** talk to people who have done more work in a day on a car than i have in a lifetime! And when they make a valid point i just say i've been on the site longer and they shoudl go back to their honda..........

And that's where i'm gonna end that ok... i could go on and on but it's not worth it. not even close. i honestly feel bad for you i really do. So say what you want.

Just thought id put some though into this.

for all the haters.

1.sr20det is NOT an over rated engine, its in the same class as 4g63,a nd has been proven over and over.

2.it takes almost twice the amount of HP to get from 9.1 to 8.1, both are impressive cars.

Yeah that's always what i thought of it as, nissans 4g haha. I can see why people go that route, it's a very good solid engine.
