I got to approx 135 on 355 a few months ago. I backed off when I noticed how fast I was going due to my bald tires(VERY VERY VERY UNSAFE!)

i had the E up to 156 on the track. just give yourselves alot of space to wind/brake back down, the AMG has bigger better brakes than the M does and it took a little bit of space to come back, im just predicting you guys will need alot more space than i did.

There is a throttle cut off at 155, that has nothing to do with going downhill or inetria... I know guys who've had a stock AMG E55 over 165...

155 mph on the Nassau Expressway in Queens, NY right near JFK airport. i slowed down when i saw the "Highway ends in 1000 feet sign". The car felt ok at that speed but it felt as if alot of air was coming through the window crack. i guess it's because of the frameless windows on the car.The car felt like the throttle cut off at about 148 but there are a lot of downhills over there

I have been near 125 to 130mph indicated. Not enough room to do more.

I have driven faster in my 1991 Q45 though ... years ago, before I had a family and a kid. I need to not kill myself now!

And, as a reminder, I'd like to point out things I have said before.

1. Please make sure that your tires are relatively new and correctly inflated to a good pressure - even all around at 36psi (cold, in the garage in the morning, no sun heating, etc.) is a good place to be.

2. No patched or repaired tires - even with the internal patch repairs (no plugs for dang sure!). If you have any previous punctures and repairs, the speed rating is automatically derated. You should not approach or exceed 100mph on patched/repaired tires.

Have fun and be safe!

yes, the car was moving though, and it was on a speed gun, gotta figure out how to get rid of that limiter though haha. AMG has "Special" packages that raise the limited speeds to 186 but it costs $5-10+k depending on ur model.
