Great pictures. Awesome. Wonder what that landmass was in the second picture?

Looking at those astronauts made me think about that astronaut that drove across several states with a space diaper on.

Well it isn't your satellite for one thing, and the only thing we felt comfortable letting you Canuks do was the booms so...

Don't worry, if Yoopers were asked to do something for the ISS, the only thing we'd be cable of doing is mining the iron ore for the steel. There probably isn't even steel on that thing.

Here's a question, where are all the stars? Shouldn't there be at least one in one of those pictures? I'm not a astronomy guy so don't tear me apart...be gentle.

I am not a photography expert but I recently purchased my first Nikon a D80. I'm still learning but if you are focusing on a close object then objects in the distance will be out of focus depending on the f stop and shutter speed. I think that is why you did not see the stars. In order to see stars the shutter would have to be open longer but that might also cause a blur?Learning to use this camera is taking me longer than learning how to post pictures here using photobucket. Any other photography experts here?

Stars only come out at night.

Actually, they are there. It is just that they aren't bright enough to be seen in the daytime. Except for the closest star, which is visible at day but never at night. I can't figure that one out.

Since we're discussing inter-galactic beauty... don't forget to watch the full Lunar eclipse this evening. Forecasters are saying that it's going to be hard to see with the cloud cover, but will be visible for about an hour tonight. (Those of us that live in cloud free environments need not worry) East coast view starting at 10pm... West coast view will begin at 7pm but will miss the beginning of the eclipse as the moon will not rise until after 7pm... You can also see the rings of Saturn clearly. Happy Skywatching!

These pictures are beautiful and outstanding! Says a lot about how powerful Uncel Sam's camera or eye-in-the-sky, really is. Thanks for sharing!

I felt dizzy looking at the pictures and imagining myself hanging off a latch above the earth. These astronauts must have a huge tolerance for vertigo.

That, or this was yet another elaborate attempt to make us all believe in the space program and one of the techies forgot to paint the stars on the background.

haha, sounds like we have a conspiracy theorist on board. I talked to someone about it, it's partially due to the light radiating from Earth (what rn was saying) and partially due to the fact that its a very narrow window that we're looking at in terms of space.
