Hey, i bought a 1992 hatch with a 95 engine in it, all emissions bull**** has been removed, 2 1/2 inch straight pipe exhaust, bunch of other little **** and some tuning and it is suppost to lay down close to 200 hp. i haven't dynoed it yet but im going to, although compared to my 95 240 this one is way faster.... anyways i quite simply want it faster..... i am not going turbo just yet, perhaps in september when i get more money from school, but for now im curious as to what else i can do, any recomendation on pistons, cams, rods, boring. anything that will improve hp. Let me know what youi all have done, i know there are several on here pushing well over 400 rwhp with their ka's. and btw any of you who will tell me to get an sr... screw you, i dont wihs to be like everyone else, im not saying there si anything wrong with an sr, its just not worth the money.

any ideas are appreciated.

the basics which you may have already: intake, headers, high flow cat, iridium plugs, msd ignition and plug wires, a battery grounding kit.

if you dont have a limited slip differential get one

get a carbon fiber driveshaft(wont help hp, but you'll get more to the ground, be able to handle more hp, and reduce 15lbs or so of rotating mass)

aluminum flywheel(no hp gain but about 10lbs losss in rotating mass and car will rev up quicker)

lighter pullies(free up some hp by underdriving accessories and reducing rotating mass)

take out a/c and all those components(also free up hp by reducing rotating mass)

reducing rotating mass is great for more power/acceleration and your also reducing weight your car has to lug around too. speaking of weight reduction, anything you can do to reduce weight will help.

new camshafts...I would get street/strip cams for a N/A engine.

get your head ported & polished and maybe even shaved.

after being satisfied with your mods go get it dyno tuned and gain you'll 10-20 more hp on top of everything just from the tuning

I wouldn't get it bored out because its not really worth the money for the amount of hp you gain, then you have to match the pistons to the bore...boring it also weakens the block a little.

i wouldnt get new pistons, rings and rods until a turbo cause to get more power out of a N/A engine you'll need higher compression pistons and for turbos you'll want lower compression pistons to run more psi.

"being different" is a terrible reason to do anything. Do what you feel is better for your particular driving style not just because "everyone else is doing it" or "to be different." Worst logic ever.

duh, the thing is , its more difficult to make your ka faster, but it is far more efficient then the stupid sr20.

I fail to see how it's more difficult to make more power on a ka than an sr. in the end they'll still cost you an arm and a leg to get em past 400 reliably. My second SR got a rebuild with alot more machine work before I installed that one. The KA shouldn't be that much different.

im not tryin to push 400 hp, but as far as goin for 250 r 3 sr is way simpler. just swap the stupid engine. to do it in a ka tho you gotta modify stuff. to me its more fun to mod the stokc engine then it is to just put a new one in it.
