I went to Bug-O-Rama today in good ole Sacramento, they have 1/4 / drag races there

It's mostly older bugs + some newer stuff, they all have different classes (stock, super gas, new cars etc.)

This one friggin Bug ran the quarter mile in 6.x seconds @ 209.88 mph

Can you imagine going that fast in something so small? I would of shat myself.

I went to Bug O rama back in 1981

I had a very kool 69 Baja that pulled low 13s

Saw some great cars at that event back then... must have been very cool today.

About a month after going to Bug O Rama my car was stolen and stripped... one of the sadest days of my life

Gihas are insanley cool... bolt in about 3000k in motor and you running low 11s in a car that will stomp most of it's Porcshe bretheren... Still love a tricked out VW

One of my friend's sisters drove a Ghia for a while. That is until she parked it and it blew up.

Don't worry, she was away from the car and nobody was hurt, but it just kind of spontaneously combusted

V-Dubs can be made fast for cheap. there was one running at an 1/8 mile track here in denton doing 7s i believe. i wouldnt mind owning one, espicially a Ghia hardtop. those are pimp looking cars. maybe i will get a v-dub someday and build it up. i know my mom and dad would love that, as would my cousin. the folks owned two and my cousin is a HUGE VW fanatic.

I think everyone likes the old bugs. They are just too cool for school. And everyone of them I see on the streets is louder than shiet!

Nothing on earth sounds like an aircooled VW motor. My Dad's friend in Atlanta works on Ghia's. He had a clean white coupe with white/red plaid interior. Definitely a pimp ride...He's a works at Toyota body shop so he does mostly body work and only wrenches on his own cars. Now if I could get him to do some body work on my old Vanagon...
