I'm planning on putting my ca18 in a 510(after i find a 510). I might have to end up buying a ssac style top mount manifold but they only have them in t3/t4 flange size. Anyone know a good t3 flanged turbo that can spool fast? Dee, can you boil one up? Thanks

well you can go with the one i am looking at get the gt2871. but that is just me. Dee knows of a good turbo to use with a t3 manifold. but remember to get that ssac manifold braced most of the top mounts like to snap. (even thou they warrenty them with out question) its the chore of taking it off and sending it out and such. just make sure you stick with a small exhaust housing. these engines thrive off engine exhaust pulse so use that to your advantage. andsince you are going with a datsun 510 with no ecu or electronics i am going to suggest to you to go with a standalone engine management like SDS like what i am doing but that is just an opinion for you to think about.. if you have any questions i can give you my email address and we can have a chat sometime. i have aim and msn messanger so we can hit it up sometime...

I've got a T3 Super-60 with a .48 exhaust,I start spooling at about 3000 and make 17psi well before 4000..

I don't think ball bearing will improve it THAT much..

stock T25 on the right, new T3 on the left! :D

The manifold is tubular but not a terribly efficient design.. cyl 1 and 2 join seperately but 3 and 4 combine before joining the collector..

Later it will be changed but so far it's been fine.

(please excuse crappy pics.. took them with phone camera)

Sorry not yet!Dyno is expensive in ontario, and whenever there is a 'dyno day' it's always right down in the city (Toronto) and since I own a RHD I avoid all cities like the plague..

ca powered 510's suck....

at traction.. the car is so light and small, not to mention the very limited tire size you can fit.you can deal with a little lag, it may help you out.

60trim/stg1/0.48 t3 is a classic 1.8L responsive street turbo. Excellent results on miata 1.8 and ca18. Some miatas gone 12s, and a couple on sxoc done 300+hp (with a flange welded to stock manifold- they're RHD tho).Hard to beat its value vs performance.

ca18det/510 put up decent ETs too, considering the mods.Mid 12s with 2.xx 60 fts on street tires. 11s on slicksI guess if you're really persistent you can drop those ETs significantly like everyone else.
