I'm still having fast idle problems. I have checked so many things. I've checked maf voltage, tps voltage, I replaced my coolant temp sensor, the timing is dead on, the o2 sensor is good, I know the fast idle control is working correctly (the idle comes up when certain electric devices turn on), I turned the iacv adjustment screw all the way in and it works (when I turn it all the way out it will idle at 1400rpm)... so this is what I have with the adjustment screw all the way in--- car starts right up and sits at about 1800rpm until warm, then it levels off at about 1000rpm and stays there... revs fine, drives fine, NO LEAKS, NO CODES, my bov is vented to atmosphere but I have an safc to control that, and it does not stall, my afr at idle is between 14:1 and 16:1. The engine builds boost and holds it perfectly. I sprayed carb cleaner into the iacv and I don't think it did anything. When I pinch the big tube running from the iacv to the cold pipe, the engine quits. I do have a greddy intake manifold but I can't see how that would have anything to do with it. Like I said, the car runs absolutely perfect except for the fast idle. WTH!!!!

hmm.... I know this is a stupid oversight but throttle cable holding the throttle plate slightly? or maybe its stuck open? There is a screw to adjust that.

Other thing I can think of is an air leak. Usually vac/boost leak causes funky idles. How are you making sure that you have none of that? Just curious...

thanks for the input but I dont think that's my problem. I've checked my vacuum at idle against what other people are getting and it seems to be right (15-20hg). I know the throttle body isn't stuck open either. I know the screw that you speak of and I just went out and double checked it. I actually found a really old thread last night that might shed light on my problem. there is an adjustment screw on the iacv that is not accesable until you chisel some epoxy out of it. I read that some guy had a problem similar to mine. He opened that up and found an adjustment spring that was collapsed. I'm gonna have to pull the iacv.

my sr always sits at 1500 rpm until warm, then drops between 800-1000..everyone i know of that has an sr say theirs do the same...unless you messd with the idle arm controller ... mine will sometimes idle slightly more when i turn my heat or ac on, but only for about 30 seconds...

O SHOOT! Yeah I just realized the old thread I was looking at was for a dohc ka engine. So I guess our iacv's don't have this other adjustment screw. Not even if it's filled with epoxy? poops. well I drove the car around alot today after spraying more carb cleaner in the iacv and it seems like it helped. It idles at about 950 after warming up and when I turn my lights and blower motor on it'll drop to 700. So I guess I don't want it any lower anyway. thanks
