I need some help with a Sociology project for school. Here's the scenario: You have to eat supper tonight at a fast food restaurant. Your choices are Subway, McDonald's, Wendy's, Chipotle, and Rubio's. Please tell me which you would pick in order of "Best choice first, worst choice last". **No substitutes PLEASE. I don't get credit for submitting any restaurant name that's not on the list. ** Thanks in advance!!!

Rubio's is actually very good, if you ever get the chance when you come back stateside. They are a mexican grill that offers lots of fresh burrito and taco options. Their fish tacos are pretty famous, and their salsa bar is very good as well. Everything is cooked fresh instead of being processed. They're a rung below Chipotle but not too far.

Rubios is not a national chain, but since Baja Fresh is close enough to it, I would put down my order for that. I suppose they don't have those near where you are?

However, as far as being a rung below Chipotle, I can't agree with that. Just the thought of Chipotle's past association with McDonalds makes me want to hurl when I eat there. The food prep being right in front of you also isn't all that appealing if you actually pay attention. Subway is also annoying in that respect.

Hmm. I don't eat fast food often but here we go :

1. Subway (lotsa choices)

2. Wendy's (best burgers of the big three, but that's not saying much)

3. McDonalds great fries, but glancing at the last burger I ate there, I thought I saw the whip marks where the jockey hit it.

4. Chipotle: I ate there once and didn't mind it, but those around me might not like that I ate it the prior day. ;)

Can't rank Rubio's, never had it and they don;t have them here.

I don't eat fast food very often, but if all of these were off the highway during a road trip, this would be my ranking:

Rubio's (for the fist taco!)
Wendy's (though expensive, they are the next highest in overall quality/freshness of food- and the spicy chicken sandwich)
Subway (good choices, very good price point)
Chipotle (its alright, but never jumped on the band wagon)
McDonald's (unless its breakfast, I WILL NOT eat here)

Good luck on the project!

1) Chipotle - Real ingredients, covers a bunch of nutrients, delicious, and delicious.
2) Subway - Decent sandwich for $6. What really matters here is the employees.
3) Wendy's - Chicken sandwich is pretty good. Like above, employees that give a hoot matter.
4) Rubios' - Never been there
5) Mcdonalds - I can't stomach most things from Mcdonalds anymore. If I'm desperate then I'll get chicken nuggets.

Wendy's, Subway, McDonalds, Chipotle, Rubios. I've never had Chipotle and never even heard of Rubios.

McDonalds sucks with the exception of their chicken club, which has bacon on it and fairly okay chicken.

All fast food burgers are crap. Dry, flavorless crap.

Chipotle (Healthiest IMO, quick, and good price)
Rubio's (Quality food)
Subway (It's decent, not a fan of their meat very much)
Wendy's (because it's better than McD's)
McDonald's (last. I only will buy a soda or soft serve ice cream, no food)

Five guys is okay. Leaps and bounds better than bk, mcd, etc. Gets kind of messy but it is a pretty good burger.

I think 5 Guys (one cup) is an East Coast thing. Woot. A good messy meaty burger when you want it.

5 guys is a regional thing, not specifically east coast or anything...

According to someone I know, they require anyone interested in opening a franchise to open no less than 5 locations at one time. I assume this is to assure quality by weeding out the poor restaurant owners. lol

I despise 5 guys. Their burgers are mediocre at best, but everyone LOVES them. I don't get it.
It's just a bag full of grease. I'll take McDonalds over 5 guys any day. I've been to about 3 different locations too. They've all sucked.

Your 5 guys is doing it wrong. There is literally a 5 guys right next to a Wakarnolds by my house, and guess who gets more business for a good burger.

you do get a bag full of grease though, mainly because of the fries. I wouldn't say MCd is better though.

Five Guys is usually mediocre because their buns often lack the density and freshness to handle all the grease, causing the dry bread to crumble in your hands while you try to eat the heap of meat and cheese.

Today, for whatever reason, I decided to give them another chance and was pleased with what I got.

I really shouldn't be eating this stuff since I've put on 10-15 lbs this winter. :/

That's what everyone says, and then I'll go with them, they'll be nutting themselves at the table while they eat, and I just want to throw up. It's never good, and it will never be good to me.

GOOD DAY SIR.

Were they all in the same general area? I mean like a reasonably close mile radius... I swear this is the last I'll ask about it lol.

Chipotle (I just get a salad, no rice/no beans), Subway, Rubio's (never been but probably some healthy salad options), Wendy's, McDonalds.

I haven't been to the last two in probably 5-6 yrs.

No, one was in Murfreesboro, TN, another was the local one here in Madison, MS. Those 2 I've been to multiple times with craptastic results. The third was somewhere while on a road trip. I can't remember where exactly, but it was a one time deal. Also bad.

The thing is, it's the same every time I go. Very consistently bad.

Yeah I've had lots of mixed experiences at BK.
The one in my home town in RI was pretty on point, but the one down here is highly dependent on what you order, and is never as good :(

I feel like Wendy's is the most consistent fast food chain, while remaining edible (not like 5 guys, which is consistently horrible to me). Even Subway tends to vary. Sometimes I'll get stale bread, or get screwed on the meat or spinach (seriously, did some kind of "operation pinch the spinach" memo go out??).

I also had a really horrible meal from Krystal's. So bad I vowed there to not be a 2nd experience.

I feel like Ray could offer a lot of insight to this thread. He's definitely made a lot of key suggestions to me that I generally follow, such as what to order and what not to order at taco bell, etc.
