Greg and I took an overnight trip up to Laughlin, just across the Arizona - Nevada border. The desert in Fall is beautiful. Highs in the upper 70s, lows in the 60s. We rode up in a caravan with some friends and made 192 miles go by in a quick, fast hurry. Note to self: driving behind a Vette owner that runs R-compounds on the street is NOT good for your paint.
We stayed at the Aquarius casino just across the NV state line, went for a boat ride on the Colorado River, had dinner with friends, and taught Greg how to play Blackjack. It was a good time. Here are my favorite pics, the link to the full Photobucket album is at the bottom. Our friends made fun of me because I take so many pictures. I didn't really think that 314 in twenty four hours was that bad. :chuckle:

Worst color on the newer vettes. Such a pain to color match. I like the way it looks, but that fact alone would not allow me to buy it (assuming I had the money).

Otherwise, looks like a blast!

Not my fav either Adam. Super sonic blue, new for 2011, is the most beautiful paint color on a car I have ever seen.

Dead sexy. It shifts depending on the light you are in but it is multi-layered with hints of blue, gray, and a bit of green and purple.

Good times with some cool people.

The front end of our Vette got totally shagged by gravel on a 5-mile stretch coming through Wikeup, AZ... didn't have a nick or a scratch when we left, but it's "well-worn" now. :( Oh well, it's a driver. ;)

A few of my favorites (for obvious reasons):

Nothing like the sound of 35+ LS-series cars winding it out through a canyon. That was my favorite part of the trip. Got to play around at double the legal speed limit, but most kept it relatively sane. Some of the group ran a while at 150+.

If I ever get a C6, it'll be a droptop Grand Sport in this color:

***ACE people: See if you can locate the picture of Marco... drooling. :rotfl

At least the supersonic blue doesn't have a tinted clear. That was the biggest problem with the atomic orange. Tri-coats and tinted clears ftl.

Yeah, the new 2011 orange doesn't look good AT ALL.

I've only seen one other Navy Blue Metallic since we got ours... lots of Electron Blue and whatever the lighter shade is (looks like the Bayside Blue on a Skyline).

If a color shares a name with a fruit, it's too ghey to put on a car.

Nope.

But at 100+ mph in a pack of 35 cars, it's kinda hard to pick and choose who you want to roll behind. ;)

Dayum guys, I would have really liked to be a part of that! Of course the fact that you're like 2000 miles away might have something to do with it. Clearly I need some mods to hang though. What size tires are you running? My tires are in need of replacement. Imagine that.

Looks like you had fun Greg! What kind of mileage did you get with the vert? I'm going to be taking my C5 to Lake Havasu to the vacation home soon and I want to see what mileage it gets once I put some Arizona gas in it. The crap in California is just that. Crap. Maybe I'll swing out that way and say hi. :)

Are talking about C5's or C6's?

Not sure, didn't check.

She runs so good now, did 348 on the dyno last month, and should be an even 400 after the next trip to LoudPedal.

Let me know when you come out, maybe we can catch up.

Let me correct my last statement: I'm averaging 21.5 since I put the headers on it and got a tune (and I drive the piss out of it).

Cam / springs / tune maybe after Christmas. :)
