I know this might sound a bit dumb, but what with translating all your good advice into Spanish and then making myself understood by the mechanics here, I do need to confirm something:I have to replace one of my rear O2 sensors, so I was thinking of getting them both done at the same time. I've read the threads and I noticed you said that I have to go to the Nissan dealers to get the ECU "flashed". Is that the same as having the faults cleared on the ECU using a scanner? Or is it a different procedure altogether that only the dealer can do?If so, any chance of giving me the official Nissan procedure number for the process? Thanks in advance and keep up the good work!

We have a spanish forum, located here..

zeroforum/183

as far as reflashing, thats another term for reprogramming it... Not clearing the codes. Main reason you would reprogram a pathfinder ECU is for the o2 sensors. on older nissan, they would have to replace the ECU, now they can just use their computer to update the vehicles computer.

Thanks elwesso, as always you've come up trumps again!BTW I'm not Mexican!I'll get that done as soon as I swap the old O2 sensors. Is the dealers the only place where they can reprogram the ECU?

I suppose if you found someone with the Nissan Consult computer, they could do it but thats hard to come by. nissan dealers are the only ones that can get consults really easy, and theyre the only ones that can get updates easy too.
