Hi, i just signed up for these forums not to long ago wondering if you guys maybe will be able to help me solve my issue. Well straight to the topic; i recently baught my 1991 q45 at 120,000 miles. while i was observing the ride height when i switched the key, it was pretty leveled out and no issues. but as i step on the peddle going down the highway the front suspension would rise extremely high. i tinkered with the switch putting it to N (normal i think) and would have the same issue but if i put it to H ( high i think) the ride high light (green) would appear in my dashboard. i bought the car used for 800 so i was expecting problems. i thought maby the oil for the hydraulics was probably the issue but i couldnt find out how to change oit it, where the hydraulics are located at and what type of fluid to put in. anyways if you guys can help out would be really help alot. im planning to use this car for my sons first car.

Try those two links and I guarantee with a little *money (3K-10K) *Time (Months) And of course knowledge which you will have gained from reading some of the stuff there you will have a great running car.

*Money is a variable and it depends on how much you love the car.

*Time is a variable and it depends on the current condition of the car and how much your willing to donate.

But there are other people with active suspension who will know 1000 times more than me because I skipped the HICAS and Active Suspension section of the FSM.

Welcome to NICO and Happy Holidays.

While you wait for help from the active suspension guru's, take a look at the FA section of the 94 FSM to get an understanding of how the system works.

IMHO the Q may not be a good choice for a new driver, especially if you're the one paying the auto insurance bill.

You might have some serious $$$ issues to get that fixed. Your probably going to have either drop a bunch of cash or retro-fit them into standard.

BTW, Infiniti is with an "i" not a "y" in your signature.

Good luck.........

Download the 1994 Q45 FSM which has he same physical active section follow written instructions.

Good luck as every 1991-95 Active we see needs an extra $3,000 on top of the normal $3,000- $10,000 in typical restoration mechanical/electrical expenses.

85% of T3 early Q45 customers have sold or junked their 14-20 year old vehicles.

The ones that remain are employees/owners, me, and a couple of school teachers.

I know of 5 sitting undriven due to fuel injector issues.
