I play Farmtown. I like it A LOT better. Most stuff you can buy with coins instead of cash. It's a lot easier to buy stuff you want in it than with Farmville. Try it, you will prolly like it better. Also, with fuel, you can just go to the fueling station and fill up that way and don't have to pay anything unlike Farmville where you have to buy it with cash. Which gets annoying if you have a big farm and have to do each square one at a time.

I got to level 23 on Farmville before I got bored and quit.

Grapes are the best to plant and you level up faster if you buy a bunch of hay bales, because they are worth 5XP and are $100.

Unbelievable isn't it?

A lot of games like Farmville are straight up scams. Farmville in particular has become the posterboy for Facebook-integrated scam games. They'll offer you "free" farm cash or whatever it's called, and all you have to do is fill out some survey. However, during the survey stuff, at some point you get signed up for a regular billing cycle. So it's not free at all. It's all pretty well hidden and very sneaky and unscrupulous.

There is a whole industry built around these "free to play, pay to succeed" games, and a sizeable portion of its income comes from scamming players. Fortunately for them 99% of facebook users are morons, so they'll never be lacking for patsies.

On a slightly different topic:I COMPLETELY fail to see the appeal of these integrated-into-facebook "games." Even if I had a facebook account I wouldn't want to play them. A friend of mine got me to sign up for facebook to play a vampire game with him on it. The "game" was terrible, and facebook pissed me off. I deleted my account and have no desire to have anything to do with either of those two things again.

It is public information that Facebook apps and games only exists to allow developers to steal your personal information.

Facebook has taken alot of slack about it but they make way too much money from it.

I go on facebook to stalk people like a normal person, not play a farming game.

I would not play a farming game on my own accord, why would I play one in Fbook?

In the beginning it was addicting, I would even set my phone's alarm for when my crops would be ready. Nowadays it has gotten boring though. My farm is too big, so I actually lag when I harvest, plow, and plant. It takes me like half an hour to complete everything. It's become more of a chore, I don't even find it fun anymore. I'm currently in level 26 and I've been there for the past three weeks, haven't played anymore.

I've realized all games made by Zynga on Facebook are just out to make a buck off of you.

That fad came and went with some of my friends. I never got into it. Just seemed like another chore to me, over and above the info fishing/scam factor. I have enough annoying tasks I have to remember to do as it is, remembering to shuck my fake corn is the last thing I want to do.
