well I have sold my 1991 hicas 240sx about 4 days ago. it saddened me greatly but i just couldn't afford it any more. it has given me so many problems that i had to resolt to selling it and cutting my losses. but however i have obtained a new car within 24 hours, and it is in immaculate condition. everything about it is in perfect working order. it's shiny, it's smooth. the air conditioning/power steering/emergancy brake/speedometer all work (all those things didnt work on the 240). i am very happy with it. here are the before and after pictures.

good to see another mazda.

I always had a little soft spot for the MX3. They are just like cute.

what do you have against the mx-3? theres nothing wrong with it. the s13 i had was just a peice of crap. it was fun to drive but i had so many problems with it i just couldn't afford it.

yes it's dissapointing that it's FWD, but it's in 10x better condition than the 240, and truthfully, the handling on the mx-3 makes the s13 seem like a boat. it's even better than my friends s14 with tein coilovers. but seriosly, it's a REALLY nice car, and i had to cut my losses so i could get something that is more reliable. that's the difference between a project car and a daily driver. however the s13 was just a frankenbeast anyways, it would've been a sucky project car with all it's problems.

I couldn't tell what that car was at first. It looks just like the Nissan NX and the Toyota Paseo. It's not my kinda car, but if you like it thats great.

I find this very hard to beleive, you try and chase your friend in some twisties and then see.

Ha, no. Your s13 probably had something wrong with the suspension (busted TCA bushings are a common problem). And a stock MX-3 is definitely not beating a well-setup coilover kit on a balanced RWD car. Like someone already said, try actually outhandling him sometime.

Eh, I definitely would have spent my $3500 on one of the following:

-Mk III Turbo Supra-FC3S (NA or Turbo)-A *really* nice SA22 RX-7-A much nicer S13 (easily had for $3500)-A Turbo Starion (lotsa problems...but so cool!)-EG6 Hatch-AE92 GT-S-You can get a damn nice AE86 for $3500-Miatas are available for $3500

But all things considered, I guess you could have done worse. I always sorta liked the MX-3, never driven one though.

Best of luck with it. It'll depreciate like a muddafocka though, so don't hold on to it too long....go buy a Miata.

Depends a lot on where he lives. You can't find a 240sx in decent condition in CA for under 4500, about the same with 1.8L miatas here. But even here, you can get a lot of the other cars you listed for that price, and they're all leaps and bounds ahead of an MX-3.

well, all of those cars are either, of no where to find around me, or my friend already has it, and i dont want to seem like a poser, but all of them are nice cars. i WOULD'VE gotten a 86 hachi, but there not very common at all in illinois, and also miata's are nice, but i've driven a lot of them, and they are really really slow cars, so i didnt really want to go with that. anyways, the opportunity presented itself, and i wanted an mx-3 for some time now so i bought it.

-i REALLY don't see how you can say it's a HUGE step down. the s13 was a severe peice of crap. it was REBUILT car with no paint, bad primer, not antenna, no speedometer, no power steering, no e-brake, no air conditioning.anyways, you really shoudln't underestimate the handling on an mx-3. the suspension was specifically designed and engineered for that car and it's amazing. so what, the only downgrade is FWD and 10hp, whoopty.

-people on these forums are big headed.

well, there much easier to find around mountainous areas. in the rockey's and on the east coast there alot easier to find than central illinois.
