I tried a subtle disappearing act from this site but AZHitman wouldn't let me! Not that I'm an attention whore (well maybe just a lil...ok A LOT!) but I'd just like to let everyone know I've appreciated being a NICO member. This is a fine group of guys (and gals) we have here and I'll sorely miss the close-knit, family atmosphere and off-the-wall irrelevancy.

It's a bittersweet announcement I have to make, but: in a few weeks time, I'll be in an entirely different part of the world. How long? That's still uncertain. If time and funds permit, I'd like to trek across the entire Southeast Asian region but the real purpose of the this trip is to the meet long-lost family members. I'll also be taking advantage of this opportunity by writing a book centered around southeast asia's love/hate relationship with the U.S.: the ubiquitous influence of American pop culture and their disenchantment of U.S. foreign policy.

At the fear of being long-winded, all I have to say is that I'll always remember my NICO family and I'll remember you fondly.

Sopdadope,exits stage left....

Love, peace, a multipurpose grease

P.S. I strongly urge everyone to watch The Killing Fields. I have a brief appearance at the end of the film.

sope, i don't know if you remember, but, i bought some silvania headlights from you about 5 months ago, when i first bought my first Q. you were one of my first dealings with the family here at NICO, and you're quick delivery of the silvania's, made me know that i had really stumbled across a great community. it has only gotten better. you will be missed!!!! i think it's great what you are embarking on!!! as great as what we have here, it pales in comparision to the exciting journey you are going to take! i am envious! wish i could tag along!!! something you will never forget!!!!! i'm a student of world geography/politics and would love to read a book of your travels/findings/observations! PLEASE KEEP ME UPDATED ON YOUR TRAVELS!!!

good luck and be safe. look forward to hearing from you. don't forget about us!!! jeff

Thanks!

Be my guest, nothing's stoppin' ya. Besides, I'll need people to keep me company. We could toast some smores over the mine-ridden wilderness and sing Coombaya. It'll be great. :D

Maybe it's youthful restlessness, maybe cultural naivete, I just thought it'd be a shame not to broaden my horizons and experience life in a different light. I've been berated by family, friends and have been told I belong in the loony bin for quitting my job and taking a break from college, but I just need to have my own lil adventure and shift my priorities to something...well anything less self-centered for something more spiritually fulfilling hence selling all my cars to fund this trip.

You can thank my Bay Area buddies for planting these crazy seeds: Nomadic5

Fred, the same could be said for you, Greg and the others. I'm really gonna miss you guys. The site would be much different (for worse) had it not been for you layin' the smack down on trolls.

It's a shame I didn't get to meet everyone in person. For those that I have met in person (Chad, Tom, Charles) it's been a true pleasure.

In the cynical, often times impersonal world of today, I'm sure we can all agree NICO is a welcomed rarity.

Don't be strangers guys, give your bud Soap a call sometime: (978) 761-5414.

Two close friends returned last year from a 12 month loop of SE Asia. The stories from their travels posted from Internet cafes were priceless. Drop a line to the Forum every so often so we all can live vicariously through your experiences. Wish I had seen the region under "better terms" when I was young.

Peace and Safety,Steve

Sop,

It saddens me to see you leave bro but this is a noble cause you're embarking on and I wish you the best of luck even though you WON'T be needing any of it.

My wife asked me the other day to come up with a list of the ten most important people in my life and it just so happens you were one of the few names that graced the list. She then asked me, "if there was one single thing you could change about that person, what would it be?" Honest to goodness, I wouldn't change a thing about you man. I could only hope to someday be as passionate as you are in your pursuits.

Had some of these members met you personally, they'd know the feeling of being in the presence of true greatness.

This guy would go out of his way and give up his right arm to help a stranger out! Something most people, including myself, wouldn't do.

Good luck man! You're gonna do big things!!

Tom

BTW, my baby mama is definitely feelin' the Tokico's all-around man! Thanks to you, we been bangin' like a screen doors in a hurricane! WAPOW!

Best of luck. There is a big world out there and it is a worthy cause to take some time to explore. Keep your wits and stay safe -- it can get rough. You will have a great time so keep us informed.

OK, this is it... My plane departs from Logan in three hours. I connect in NYC and then I'm off to Malaysia for the final connection.

Dunno what to say really except the wouldn't be an online Nissan/Infiniti without NICO.

Best wishes to everyone.
