Farewell forever, Tweed!!!!

Well as always the title says it all, the tweed is pissing me off. A friend of our family's owns an auto upholstery shop, and they're helping me out a little bit with instructions, tools, fabric, and parts, not charging tax, and I can use their knowledge =) SO we took the pop out rear seat bottom out as a test piece, and me and a friend are going at it in velour tomorrow morning through Friday depending on how long it takes, my 240 has the factory black/gray interior, and I've painted the majority of my trim in silver, so we're doing the rear seat in a two tone black on the outsides, grey through the middle, gonna see how it turns out then do the seat backs and figure out if I want racing seats or just reupholster the factory ones. Next up, remove tweed from door panels, make use of goo gone, clean vinyl as best as humanly possible, then fix that glove box =PPPPPP I'll post pictures once we start getting everything together.

I looked at removing the tweed from my door panels but it didnt look like there was any vinyl beneath it. Can i see a pic of someone who has done this

How did you repaint some of your trim peices? I've been wanting to paint my center console,brezels around the vents,window cranks,door handles...etc.

I ripped mine off the doors. Thinking about getting some Louis Vuitton or Armani or something fabrice and upholstering the doors with it.

Just for bling! Everyones gotta have a little bit.

I took it off my doors and it looks great.

But, I heard that the glove box is harder because there's some kind of yellow foam (?) underneath it.

you do the same thing on the glove box and then take a wire brush and rub all of the foam off until its level. get some black vinyl at the fabric store for like 10 bucks and some spray adhesive. take the glove box door apart, cover one side of it, and screw it back together. done!

I just took a razor to my yellow foam stuff. came off pretty clean
