I have puller fans currently on my car and the stock 240 radiator. Although the car seems to be running cool enough, summer in Texas can quickly change that. I am thinking about a Koyo, which is 3 times as thick. As you can see from the pictures I posted, that means my puller fans are not going to fit. My first idea is to remount them on the otherside of the new radiator and reverse the power and ground to make them act as pusher fans. I am currently using the Flexalite dual fans. Does any one know if that should work? I would really hate to spend an extra $200 for new fans.

Just make sure your flexalites can fit on the other side first. I installed 2 12" permas as pushers. For the 12s I had, the instructions just said to reverse the power. But for some of the other perma fans you have to take the blade off and turn it around.

But are your fans reversible also?

You wouldn't have to spend $200 on new fans. You can get a 14" and 12" Permacool high performance for about $80 each. Plus, you could easily, EASILY sell that Permacool unit on Ebay for over $100 to someone with an SR or KA.

The Permacool 14" by itself is probably enough...

I went the route of 2 12" permas. 14 couldnt fit with mine. I also have the condensor though. Also perma says that when put on push type they're only gonna be about 80% efficient

80% less efficient than pull, or only 80% compared to what it normally would do?

sorry, its 80%. so 20% efficiency loss.

i also built a little shroud to help a bit. i noticed the permas pushing some air to the side

Another question for you, how much heat does your motor seem to give off after some driving, and you pop the hood? Sweltering hot, or not-too-bad? I'm contemplating an RB20 or 25 swap and I read that the 20 might run hotter than the 25...

my engine actually runs pretty cool. even after a 30 mile trip, I can put my hand on the valve covers for a little bit with out being burned. I was really supprised at how cool it is running with the stock radiator. My flexalite fans are on full blast all the time, and those things could suck the leaves of my yard, so I guess I owe it to them
