last week my fan started squeaking and then today when i started up my car, the squeaking had stopped but the fan got louder whenever i revved up the motor. The car has little power after hitting 3,000 rpms. What could it be?

It sounds like one of the idler pulley bearings is frozen. The pulleys are part of the tension adjustment for each of the belts. See if you can pinpoint the noise (look at the belt that drives the fan first) or loosen/remove the belts and manually rotate each pulley by hand to see which one is binding.

The squeaking came from the fan. Could it be the clutch fan?

The main (Clutch) fan is bolted to the water pump.
Be dang sure it's not the water pump bearing howling !!

Sounds like what happened to me when my clutch went out. Try spinning the fan with the engine off(of course) the fan should spin freely, if not then it would appear that the clutch froze up like mine did. I tried every trick to fix it, but in the end just ended up replacing it. Good luck!
