fan shroud

My fan shroud is all messed up and broken in multiple places. Do I really need to have it on? Or will I be alright without it? Also, I'm doing an SR swap in June. Does the SR use the same fan and retain this damn shroud? Would electric fans allow me to get rid of the shroud completely?

I took mine off, and put an electric fan in, and removed the clutch fan on both my cars. haven't had an issue.

The stock fan shroud won't work with the SR at all, so you'll be removing it in the future anyway. I removed my mech. fan and shroud and i'm using a 14" permacool electric fan.

Keep it unless you get an electric fan (which is pointless unless you need the space for a RB).

Just remember you'll need the JDM SR radiator, fan shroud and SR radiator hoses to use the stock SR mech. fan.
