i have a bit of an odd question... last spring, my plastic intake cracked and was pulling in air past the sensor, causing the car to idle very low and generally just stall. i remedied this with an injen aluminum intake because the source i got it from was affordable enough to seem more worth it than a replacement plastic piece. anyway, that aside, now with the cone filter on this intake, all is well except that the fan shroud which the intake piping runs across, is slowly breaking at the mounts on top of the radiator. i assume this is do to turbulence of the cone filter moving about and shifting the piping back and forth over the shroud... anyway, i was just wondering if anyone had any major recommendations for how to hold my intake better in place, if i shoudl just remove the fan shroud, etc... any feedback would be greatly appreciated thanks!

DO NOT, remove the fam shroud... your fans will be very ineffective afterwords. What I would do is super glue it back as best as possible. Then run to a home improvement store and buy some aluminum ducting tape and this roll of soft foam with one sticky side for sealing doors and line the shroud with that stuff where the intake touches the shroud. Once that's done, take the foam and put it on the aluminum tape. Then bolt the intake down. That will prevent your intake from bouncing around and cracking your shroud.

what they said ^

the stuff you want is called pipe hanger, its a roll of thin metal with holes for screws and stuff (like a roll of electric tape)

its in the plumbing section of walmart or your favorite big store

that stuff and fat zipties are great for non-loadbearing mounts

well, i solved the issue for the most part... i replaced the whole thing with dual electric fans today, so far so good... i'll post more on how it's working if necessary
