fan resistor pack

Hi, I'm very new here so if I'm messing up let me know.

I had a problem where my fan would only go to 4 (highest setting) or off (effectively for all other settings). I called my local parts center and they said it was a fan resistor pack so I ordered one.

I'd like to save some money, but I have no idea where to start. It seems simple enough but I don't know where the resistor pack is. Help?

The car is a 1996 240SX base model.

I found the pack and replaced it but I still am having the same problem. :help
