Ok, I went out and did this to my Q... Mine wasnt nearly as bad, on the edges they were the worst...
First, the 94 has a different design.. There are 4 bolts on what is jesda's metal bar in the 2nd picture. You have to remove those ALONG with the 2 bolts in the glove box, and the 2 screws on the hinge.....
So I get in there, and the edges are by far the worse, it was caked... For the edge closest to me I could reach my finger in there and sorta rub it off into balls...
After that, I got a flathead screwdriver and worked on the other side, having the blade going perpedicular to the evap, so im scraping with the side.... Be gentle you dont want to bend the fins...
I would ball it up a litlte, and then stick my shopvac in there with the long narrow extension in there and suck stuff up...
As I was working in there, the whole bottom had leaves and stuff of that nature down in there..... So got a hanger and bent it in the shape of a hook on one end, and on the other end of an upside-down L... Theres a little copper tube in there, and I bent it SLIGHTLY out of the way so I could get the attachment in there.....
I would bunch the stuff to the middle and vacuum it out.. There's rubber on the bottom, so dont think its gooey stuff..
After I got out much as I could, I took a spray bottle with a stream thing, and sprayed it on the evap on the places that I missed... Then I dumped some water in there to flush it out and clear the drain until it would pour out...
got it all put bcak together, and thers noticeably more air coming out, especially on the passengerside, right hand vent, where passengers would complain about insufficient airflow.....
Cost was free, improvement was good, so free+good=
