I have had my versa for 6 weeks now and the only complaint I have is the interior fan noise. I usually have the radio on so i don't notice it much, but when i hear it, it drives me crazy.

Has anone had sucess with the dealer fixing this noise? It almost seems like the fan has a rubbing or a bearing that is not working correctly.

Any ideas?

Go to a Nissan dealer and try the fan in other Versa. If it's the same, you'll just have to get used to it. If your's is different, have it fixed under warranty. I've not experienced anything unusual with the fan.

I had made a post awhile back about the noise level of the fan. Mine isn't making anykind of mechinal noise just a loud whooshing noise.

When I have it on the #2 speed it seems noiser than it should be so once it cools down and I am moving I usually move it to outside air versus maximum and it quites it down somewhat due to the ducts switching from recirculate to bringing in outside air.

I drive numerous Versas and I am pretty sure mine is noiser than the others I have driven. I figure it is something I will have to live with because it is kind of hard to prove the difference in noise levels

Don't figure you have to live with it. Take it to a dealer. You paid for the warranty when you bought the car. Explain to them that you've driven other Versa's and that you know for a fact that the fan is noisier than it should be. They'll check it out and probably replace the appropriate things for you, for free. In my experience, and from reading what others have posted here Nissan dealers are generally very good about honoring the warranty on their vehicles, they'll work with you to figure out what's wrong, get it replaced, and you happy all for free.

You don't need the backup of someone else having had the problem to ask the dealer to straighten it out. Just go into your dealer's service department and tell them what's going on. They'll even rent you a car while it's in the shop if the repair is going to take a long time.

I had a "rattle" in my fan too. I had them replace it but it does the same thing. I just assume it's normal for that part.

I've got a lot more than a rattle. The whole steering column vibrates. I can only drive the car with the fan set on 1 or 0; it's unbearable above that. My service appointment with the dealer is set for next week. I'll let you know what I find out.

BTW, the odometer just passed 2k miles.

Dealer. Definitely go to the dealer. My fan is a little noisy at 2, kinda loud at 3, but there is no rattle whatsoever, nor is there a HINT of vibration in the steering column from the fan.
