i admit i have little experience in aftermarket fans.....

i bought a 240sx with a flexlight fan and it used to kick in and stopped one day. i saw my water temp go up to 90C at idle on a hot afternoon but when i checked, the fan still wasnt running. what are some common failure points? thank you.

Doees it have an adjustable fan controller? It may have come out of adjustment, but that is highly unlikely. It could be the fuse has blown also.

nah no fan controller... yeah i just noticed yesterday so didnt get a chance to check any fuses yet. was gonna try.

was also wondering if maybe the temp sensor in the radiator is dead. cant be the temp sensor to the ecu cuz the stock water temp gauge works fine

How is the fan wired up? There are two coolant temp sensors; one for the ecu and one for the temp gauge in your dash. These shouldn't be affecting your aftermarket fan though depending how it is wired.
