While tinkering around under the hood today I noticed that my nice plastic fan is cracked in lots of spots where it goes around the middle. I'm sure this has happen to lots of you guys and a more proactive NICO member has already changed it. What's the best way to go?

I could call Joe and order a new OEM fan right? I could talkt ot someone parting out a Q? Or has someone identified a better than OEM part?

ALso, what's involved in changing this?

You replace it with new from Joe. It is fairly easy to R&R as detailed in previous posts. Check its clutch also.

This was just discussed in another thread. Unless the fan is severely cracked where it seems to be flimsy, youll notice that the fan while its still cracked is still fairly sturdy and wont fall apart. if this is the case, then you can probably get by with replacing it.

is it worth it?? Thats your call.

Replacing the fan only takes a few minutes, its held in by 4 10mm nuts on the flange of the water pump. Just take those out and the fan and clutch comes right out. Swap out the old clutch into the new fan and your in business....

20 min job, TOPS.

This is the only thread I could find on the subject. Sounds like just go with OEM replacement eh?

Yep! The part is only $56 and some change.

If you are going to replace the fan, go ahead and get a new clutch as well.
