ok, a couple questions, first off, i drive a 91 q, ui just purchased it and its not in bad shape, i hjust want to do some things to it to give it a little extra power(not saying that it doesnt have enough, im just never satisfied with what i have. lol)-has anybody done an electric fan conversion on their q?-does anybody make a fiberglass or carbon fiber hood for it(the hood weighs a ton)?-i read that most 300zx suspension parts are transferable to the q, but i was unclear on wether or not the springs are?

thanks for any feedbackryan

1. in the case of the Q, doing an electric fan conversion usually isnt worth it because a fan that big would just draw a ton of power from the alternator.

2. no. The stock Q hood doesnt really weight that much IMO.

3. The suspension links are, the springs and shocks are not but you might be able to put Z coilovers on with some basic modifications... It has been done.

Welcome to NICO. where in IN are you?

If you want to do"some things" to it,or even continue to drive it at all-Make sure the chain guides have been updated,or it will just be a 4000 pound lump in the driveway!

The best thing you can do for performance after you have restored it to as new OEM condition is add the rear a model sway bar, Jeff's FST bar, tha ATF suxiliary cooler and the NICO ECU. And of course new top rated tires as you can buy in the appropriate wheel size will increase handling and braking performance the most, providing you observe the initial caveat above.

-what if i put two smaller electric fans?-what does IMO mean?-who did the z car coils, and what mods does it need?jw-im pretty sure by now it has to have had the tensioners because it has 190,000 miles so im guessing it has been done already if its still running lol

o n im in northern indiana, bout 20 minutes from notre dame university.

Really bad guess. Frequent religious oil changes can postpone failure, but never eliminate it.

You need to do some reading in the articles and previous posts. Including Wes' answer above.
