i want to get rid of the switches in my car, and i've been running my fan off one for awhile and noticed it gets fairly warm sometimes... i found this, and am probably going to get it and install it tomorrow, but had a few questions.

all i have to do is mount the sensors somewhere on the radiator, mount the box, and wire it to battery and the fan and its good to go? no seperate relay or anything? thanks everyone.

seperate question, my fan pulls ALOT of current, probably no way to make it draw less, is there?

The engine is still hot after you turn it off so its still trying to cool it down, most cars have a warning under the hood "keep hands clear of fans, may still be moving after car is off".

If you don't want the fans to run after you shut off your car you would have to wire the controller to your ignition. otherwise its fine.

so basically just take the wire coming off the battery and tap it into something with 12v switched? the fans wont stay on that long after shutting off would they?

i wouldnt worry about that, just leave it like it is........and dont worry about your battery dying if it runs for 5-10 secs cause i had my fans run for almost an hour and everything was still fine

is that fan control labled 1 2 and C? which one are you connecting to the relay? I have a flex-a-lite controller and I dont know which to hook to the relay, unless Im supposed to send both of the prongs to it. Also, the four wires on the plug are solid black, white with black stripe, white with blue stripe, and white with red stripe.could you tell me which are positive and which are negatives?

I thought this forum was for helping people? Ive asked this question numerous times and I have gotten nothing. I wired it up without the relay and now the fan is on when the car is off but when I turn it on it shuts off.why?

So you're taking a stab at our efforts to help you and then asking for help?

Sounds like you have it wired completely wrong, especially since you don't have it on a relay. Why don't you pay attention to the wiring schematic that somebody already posted and use that for a reference?

well I had it on a relay but when I asked which prong of the controller I need to cconnect to the relay noone answered me, so don't tell me to pay attention. Ive been paying as much attention to the stupid pictures and little paragraph about nothing as I possibly could

That temp probe is set up WRONG.

And you're running a thermostatically-controlled e-fan. Quit being a jackass and remember, you're using another component that's NOT included in that diagram.
